SOB, Cry and Rage... Oh and Floam!

(*^IYWI@^@)%#!(#_!!

SO mad :(. I have not had a "bad" nail break since I first went to shorty nails. I think back in 2011 was when I decided to go to shorties. So, I had not experienced a "devastating" nail break for over a year. Yesterday, as I was prepping for a swatchathon, I snagged my middle nail on something and it broke in a bad way. I wanted to cry lolol.. If you have been following my recent shenanigans on You Tube you know that I have A LOT of product that needs to be swatched/ and or nail arted with lol. I SO do not need my nails looking like THIS... I know I LOVE me some nubbies.... But this is TOO nubby for me lolol!
..... Ugh.... So I figured, might as well actually enjoy wearing my Floam. I had only gotten to swatch it once, a long time ago. My bottle is pretty "old" and it had thickened up a little bit, this was not an issue though. I just added a few drops of nail polish thinner and shook it really well. The consistency was fine after I thinned it a bit. I used Three easy, thin coats to get my nail fully covered in Floamy bits. I top coated it with Two coats of Cult Nail Wicked Fast. Even though my nails are SUPER short I am still loving the Floam-y goodness!

Also! Here is another You Tube vid! This one covers the contents of my Ikea Helmers :D

I will be posting stashed swatches until my nails grow to an acceptable length :(. I really need to/can't wait get into my swatches and nail art again! I totally want get stuff done and then shiz like this keeps happenin lolol!!! In the meantime I will continue to focus on my FAQ video series and taking my vitamins to make sure my nails grow out fast :D!!

Etsy Mania!! Nail- Venturous Humble Bee

Happy It's Monday!!

But despite the fact that it is the most dreaded day ever and there is a blatant lack of Muffin on the blog today I do have an awesome polish to show yoy guys. I scored this baby during Amy's first Etsy run. My heart was pounding so hard I was winded by the time I clicked "Submit Order". Thank goodness it lives up to my hype!
I've seen Humble Bee worn on it's own so I think it can reach opacity. However, after what I went through to get this, I want to make it last as long as possible so I layered it for this manicure. A decision I do not regret because I freaking LOVE how awesome this looks. My base color is O.P.I My Boyfriend Scales Walls. A very, very light clean and crisp White- Grey. Humble Bee is a mis of awesome neon bright Yellow matte glitters and Black glitter with some larger Black bits thrown in for texture. AMAZING! That.IS.All. I cannot get enough of these matte glitter blends. The "texture" and effect they create is just too cool!

Here is a neat-o macro shot!
So.... How freaking cool is this?!!!!!

Etsy Mania!! Nail-Venturous Floam!!!!!

That's right!!!

Freanking Floam man! Further proof that I have the best readers ever... I had posted a status update on Facebook that promptly resulted in a swap with a reader who was willing to part with her Floam. Clearly I jumped at the chance to get my hands on this, most elusive, of polishes. So, if you were a kid in the 90's (or had kids in the 90's), you probably grew up watching the awesomenes that was Nickelodeon (in the 90's, not now lol). The second I saw this nail polish on Chalkboard Nails I didn't even have to read what the polish was called to scream out Floam when I saw the pics. I knew I had to have the polish... Getting my hands on it would be nothing short of a saga....
For these pics I layered Floam over Zoya Wednesday. Floam is a very dense mix on neon Yellow and Blue matte glitter in a clear base. This polish could be worn on its own very easily in Three thin-ish coats. I decided to layer so I would not have to use as much of Floam. This polish is not easy to come by. You practically have to stalk Amy's Etsy Shop or ninjapolish.com. They sell out within minutes of posting. This dries a little bumpy but some Seche will fix that right up!
I seriously love this to bits and the memories it brings back of my awesome 90's Nick days.

Thoughts?

Princess Toes

It's been a while since I posted any pedicure pics, so here you go. I've not been keeping them as pretty as my fingernails, so they haven't been photo-worthy. Here is Deborah Lippmann Between The Sheets with 2 coats of Nail-Venturous A Dash of Princess on top. I'm in love with these big white hex glitters. :)

Nail-Venturous Floam & A Dash of Princess

Amy of I'm Feeling Nail-Ventuous has recently created some amazing frankens. I was lucky enough to be able to buy two from her. She is not currently selling them, but keep an eye on her blog and you'll stay updated if that changes. ;)

Floam is fantastic because it contains contains specks of ultra fine neon blue and neon yellow glitter in a clear base. It completely covers in just 2 coats! It's a dense glitter for sure! And yes, it's named after this Floam.

It is so interesting and changes colors depending on how far away you are. Up close the colors are very distinct. From a distance? It looks like a bright green or teal. It's really mind blowing.

I got lots of comments on it at work. All positive! It's a hit!

Next is A Dash of Princess. I love this combination of glitters! There are large hexes in white, opal, metallic pink, and an almost see through hot pink. There are medium hexes in white, and metallic hot pink. Then there are fine micro hot pink glitter pieces. It's all in a clear base, so the layering options are endless!

I wanted to stay with the pink theme and I layered 2 coats over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Bubblegum Pink. The picture looks like there are medium black hexes, but those are the metallic pink ones that just catch the light funny.

On a swatch stick so you can see how it looks by itself. I saw a really interesting combo when Amy layered this over a medium blue. The almost see through pink pieces turned purple! So I'll try that out soon!

And she packaged them so cute! The came in a bubble mailer wrapped in this metallic tissue paper with a piece of ribbon and a cute felt owl sticker. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to purchase these beauties and I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve! ;)
