Chick Nail Polish Fall/ Winter 2012 Releases

Happy humpday!

Today I have some new releases by the uber cute, Vegan- friendly brand- Chick Nail Polish. I've been a fan of this brand from the very first time I saw their adorable Chicky logo. Last year All A Twitter was one of my top polishes for the year. I've never been let down with Chick NP's formula either! I think these would make such cute gifts.
On a side note: Julie also released an amazing cuticle oil this past Fall. It is a Tangerine- Ginter scented cuticle oil and it has an amazing texture. I LOVE how it smells. Sometimes I want to wear it as perfume.
To see close up swatches of these Four shades just continue reading♥.

Chick Nail Polish Rocker Chick
Rocker Chick is a beautiful Blackened plum with fine Magenta and Copper micro-shimmer. This color has a great formula and it is very saturated with color. The shimmer in this shade is great because it pulls the shade out of looking-Black-all-the-time territory. I used Two coats for my swatch and no top coat.

Chick Nail Polish Biker Chick
Biker Chick is a very shimmery Silver foil. This is a really nice, clean and shiny Silver. My camera was having issues with this shade because it is just so bright and reflective. The formula on this pretty is very good and does great in Two easy coats.

Chick Nail Polish in Hipster Chick
Hipster Chick is an awesome squishy Lime Green base packed full of twinkling glitter and "pixie dust". I.LOVE.This.Shade. The formula is really nice and almost jelly like. The glitter has a really good spread. This color dries with the slightest texture so a top coat is a must. I used Three easy coats for my swatch and Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat.

Chick Nail Polish Punk Chick
Another winner for me! Punk Chick is a very, very bright creamsicle Orange creme. This shade is really fun and eye catching. I love Orange, so by default I am a fan. The formula on this shade is really nice and does well in Three thin coats.

Chick Nail Polish is non toxic, cruelty- free and vegan friendly. They retail for $8.00 on www.chicknailpolish.com. I am looking forward to trying the base coat and I am already a HUGE fan of Chick's Cuticle Oil. My picks from this group are definitely Hipster Chick and Punk Chick. Oh and I love the names!!

Which are your picks?

O.P.I Skyfall Collection Swatches

Hey it's Monday!

Ugh! Anywho! I FINALLY have swatches of the O.P.I Skyfall Collection for you guys! This collection was released as O.P.I's Holiday collection and was inspired by the new James Bond movie; Skyfall. I'm personally not a James Bond fan. I've only seen a few movies about the famous spy but I was young and didn't get them lol. I also didn't speak English haha! BUT I do LOVE these polishes and they are perfect, not only for the Holiday season, but a great representation of Bond-Girl style and class.
To see swatches of the whole collection just continue reading after the jump. ♥

O.P.I Goldeneye
Goldeneye is a fantastic warm, Honey Gold glassfleck accented by warm Coppery flecks. This shade of Gold is entirely unique in my collection. I love how warm it is, very Holiday. The formula on Goldeneye is just a little sheer but builds up nicely. For my swatch I used Three coats of color.

O.P.I Tomorrow Never Dies
Tomorrow Never Dies is a vivid Burple metallic-shimmer. This shade is a really great middle ground between Royal Purple and Royal Blue, even though my photo makes it look more Blue than Purple. The formula on this color is nice but it does require s steady, soft hand to avoid brushstrokes showing on the surface. For this shade I used Three thin coats for full even coverage.

O.P.I Live and Let Die
*swoon* Live and Let Die is a beautiful, deep Forest green based shade packed FULL of beautiful Green and Golden glassfleck shimmer. The shimmer is a bit more visible in the bottle than when the color is actually on the nail. The formula on Live and Let Die is very dense but easy to work with. The shade is actually a bit darker on the nail that in the bottle. This color could have been one coat, but I did Two.

O.P.I Casino Royale
Casino Royale is a classic, medium Red toned Purple creme. This reminds me of one of my favorite O.P.I shades ever, Pamplona Purple but with slightly Pink-er undertones. This shade has a great, buttery smooth formula and does great in Two coats.

O.P.I Skyfall
Skyfall is a Red toned brown creme. Shades like these are not really my "thing" so they never speak to me much. That said, this color is right on trend for the season and it has a fantastic Two coat formula. The other thing about shades like Skyfall is that they flatter just about any skin tone and they look classic all year 'round.

O.P.I The Living Daylights over Skyfall
The Living Daylights is such a fun glitter topper. The mix here is of Silver, Light Gold, Teal and Copper hexes suspended in a clear base. This polish is fairly easy to work, with which is nice. I really like the unique combination of colors and the effect the glitter creates.

O.P.I Moonraker
*le sigh*.... And not in a good way. This shade was SO frustrating. The formula is EXTREMELY brushstrokey and hard to control. This shade will also show any imperfections you may have on the surface of your nails which is a bummer. It looks semi- decent here but it took an extreme amount of patience to get it to look this way. They key is to wait between coats an do as little strokes as possible. I have it shown without top coat because as the color dries the strokes disappear a bit and it actually looks a bit more chrome-like rather than frosty. I used Three, VERY PATIENT, coats for this swatch. I also hear this shade chips easily.

O.P.I On Her Majesty's Secret Service
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is an interesting Steely Blue glassfleck laced with beautiful Gold shimmer. I know what you are getting ready to ask. Is it a Zoya FeiFei dupe. I'm going to say "no" on that one. The shimmer in this shade is chunkier and the Gold is more evident. They could be  cousins, but not dupes. No matter what, this is an absolutely beautiful shade and interesting as well. This color has a great, two coat, formula.

O.P.I The World is Not Enough
The World is Not Enough is a lovely Taupey shimmer, practically foily in finish. This shade also has some flashes of Pink that give it that certain "something". This color GLOWS! Now the one downside is that is is pretty sheer. I believe I used Four thin coats to get the full effect of the polish. I am interested to see how this does layered.

O.P.I Die Another Day
Die Another Day is a spectacular shade or Red-Orange with the most beautiful micro shimmer, lit-glowing qualities. Remember Danke-Shiny Red from the Germany Collection? Give it some strong undertones of Orange and you get Die Another Day. THAT SHIMMER!!!! This shade is easily one of my favorites in this entire collection. The formula goes on like butter and had a glassy- smooth finish. Two coats.

O.P.I The Spy Who Loved Me
Another HUGE winner for me! This shade reminds me of the AMAZING DS polishes O.P.I released this fall. The Spy Who Loved Me is a beautifully dense, Apple Red glassfleck, laced with strong Gold flakes. This is like glorious lipstick for my nails! The formula on this shade is very saturated and does great in Two easy coats.

O.P.I You Only Live Twice
You Only Live Twice is a great Raspberry glassfleck with strong Magenta flashes. This is not the most unique shade but it is still really beautiful and classic. This shade has that great glowy quality I am an absolute sucker for every single time. The formula on this shade is a little sheer but does great in Three thin coats.

There are a LOT of great shades in this collection. The Red tones are absolutely to die for! O.P.I always knows how to do a wonderful shade of Red. I am also a huge fan of Goldeneye and Live and Let Die. Overall, this is a well put together, cohesive collection and I really think it embodies that glam feeling of the movies, as well as the sparkle and flash of the Holidays.

Which are your faves?

Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors Collection Swatches

Good Evening!

Cult Nails!!!!!! I love this brand to bits. I love the creator of this brand to bits. I love every little thing about Cult Nails. But the thing I love most is how with every collection Maria manages to blow me away a little more than the last time. Just when I though that there was no way Maria could top herself, she goes and creates one of the most beautiful and stunning Cult Nails Collection I've ever seen. This is the Behind Closed Doors Collection. An amazing group of Five shimmering beauties with quite the sexy theme.
To see swatches of this AMAZING and beautiful collection just continue reading!

Cult Nails Coveted
Coveted might just be my top polish release for 2012. Why? Ok, so I'm not much for catching "lemmings". The only lemmings I've had were Illamsqua Viridian and Load as well as Nars Zulu. That is all, just Three lemmings. I am now the happy owner of the Two Illamasqua shades but I never go ahold of Zulu. Enter Coveted; a deep Forest Green jelly base packed full of glowing Green micro shimmer and Green metallic flakes. Zulu who? Maria showed me a sneak of this color a few months before the release and it was immediate love. The formula on Coveted is excellent. I used Three coats for full coverage and opacity.

Cult Nails Flushed
Flushed is just..... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This shade is a beautiful Amethyst Purple base packed full of color-shifting micro shimmer. The shimmer is visible in all types of light and glows Pink, Copper, Purple and Green. There is a Clarins 230/ Fantasy Fire quality about Flushed that really makes it SO special. The formula on this polish is a dream and does great in Three thin coats. This polish might also do well layered, I've yet to try it.

Cult Nails Disciplined
Disciplined is a soft Grey base packed with color-shifting shimmer. The base color is a soft and dreamy Gray that is slightly sheer and easily buildable. The shimmer shifts from Pink to Blue to Purple and Copper. I think if Cult Nails My Kind of Koolaid and Charlatan got together and had a love-baby you would get Disciplined. This polish does great in Three thin coats.

Cult Nails Bitten
Bitten is a delicious, rich Raspberry toned jelly base packed full of glowing shimmer. The shimmer in Bitten has a beautiful Pink, Purple, Berry shift. I  love this for the holidays and I love how it looks on my skintone. This is a very flattering shade. The formula on this color is a dream and does great in Three thin coats.

Cult Nails Afterglow
Afterglow is a tarnished coppery base packed full of glowing copper microshimmer and accented by Pink glassflecks. I love the darkened edges when it is on the nail. I also love the touches of Pink as they give this shade a really unique touch. This shade has a wonderful Three coat formula.

I have nothing else to say about this collection but "WOW!" I mean really, this group is really so refined and cohesive. I am a big fan of collection that actually look like they belong together. I love the micro shimmer theme in this colors and how flattering, unique and well executed they are. In typical Cult Nails fashion, the formulas are outstanding. I can't get enough Cult Nails!!! I can't pick favorites because I love the entire collection to bits!

The Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors Collection is still available for Pre- Order until midnight today! Hurry while they are on sale!!

Can you pick faves?

Zoya Ornate Collection- Holiday 2012 Swatches

Hello and dreadful Monday....

But, you know what would make any Monday better? This Holiday Collection by Zoya!!! Glassfleck holos, dense metallic shimmers and even an obnoxiously awesome bar glitter... Sign me up for that! This collection of Six colors is one of the strongest groups I have seen Zoya release in a while. This might also be one of the more anticipated Holiday collections, definitely the first one to make its way to me. I am over the moon with this collection and shall rant more about how much I LOVE these as the post goes on.
One of the biggest things that got me with this collection is that they are not your typical "Holiday Colors". Do they scream Holiday? In my opinion, absolutely! Think of chic New York store decorations, etc... They are shimmery, rich and truly "Ornate"(Ahhhh ahhh see what I did there lolol). Ultimately I love that it is not a collection full of Red cremes and  Green mediocrity. I bow down to the brilliant Zoya Fairies who worked on this collection. So! Onto the colors!

Zoya Aurora
Aurora was an immediate stand-out for me. Aurora is the most perfect shade of medium Red toned Purple dense "jelly" packed full of small Holographic glassfleck. This polish is just perfection in every way. In the right light the holographic effect is almost linear. I can tell you that I have not had a Purple polish blow me away like Aurora did in a very long time. Formula- wise this color is easy to work with and does best in Three thin coats. If you love Purple... You will absolutely need this beautiful polish.

Zoya Logan
Where do I even start?! So beautiful... Should have sent a poet.... (lolol the realms of my nerdiness knows no bound). So! Logan! It is the most perfect shade of darkened Emerald green micro shimmer that all blends beautifully to create a foil- like surface. This shade of Green has quite a bit of Blue in it so it makes it a very unique shade of Green. There is also a fine Golden micro shimmer laced in with the Green that warms up the colors and gives it a perfect Holiday glow. I could have done with Two coats but I went with Three thinner coats instead.

Zoya Storm
Storm is a simple black creamy-jelly packed full of Holographic Glassflecks. The look is very cosmic and twinkly with Storm. Where Storm differs from other "Twinkly blacks" is in those glassflecks. generally colors like these are packed in small to micro glitter that can make the surface of the polish gritty or bumpy. There is non of that with Storm, every glassfleck lays flat and the surface is smooth and shiny. Storm does best in Three thin coats.

Zoya Electra
Electra is for the BOLD! Electra is made up of TONS of fine bar glitters, Silver Holographic in finish, suspended in a clear base. I'm sure this is more meant to be layered but as you can see, it definitely achieves full coverage on it's own. How many coats you ask? Only Three! My nails looked like they were covered in shredded tinsel and I was loving every second of it!

Zoya Electra over Zoya Logan
I just HAD to see it over Logan. I know Halloween has not even passed but doesn't looking at this make you wish for the Holidays to get here faster!?

Zoya Blaze
Blaze is a saturated Raspberry jelly base packed full of those same Holo glassflecks we saw in Aurora and Storm. They could be called sister polishes, just in different tones. Blaze practically applies itself. This color could be worn at just Two coats but I did Three for photos. Blaze is like holographic Velvet.

Zoya Ziv
Last but most def not least is the stunning Ziv. Oh.My.Wow! Ziv is a very warm shade of Gold foil accented by, what looks to me like, coppery micro glassflecks and even small Gold flakes. And here I was thinking all Gold foils are pretty much the same.. WRONG! Ziv is out of this world! The amazing thing about this color is that the finish is practically Chrome-like but it is SO much more beautiful and refined than any other Golden metallic polish that has been released this Fall season. For Ziv I used Two coats.

Bet you forgot it was Monday didn't you!? Aren't these just amazing! I never hold my breath when I see Press Releases, but I knew from the get-go that this collection by Zoya was going to blow me away. There really isn't much more to say that I have not already said. Individually and as a group, these colors are to die for and very much unique in my collection (that alone is a feat as my collection is... o.O). These are the types of shades that the nail polish community will talk about years from now and still be in total awe of their beauty.

The Ornate Collection is available now from Zoya.com. The set retails for $48 and each individual color for $8.00. If I had to pick faves I'd def go for Aurora, Logan, Ziv and Electra.

*golf clap for Zoya* Brava Faries! Brava!!
