365 Days of Color! Hocus Pocus Collection Swatches

Good evening!!!

This time around I have a Halloween collection that was released by indie brand 365 Days of Color. This was the very first Halloween Collection to make it into my hands this year. Sadly the surgery and all that non-sense happened shortly after I received these babies and I didn't have a chance to swatch them until recently. I.Feel.Terrible about that. Sunny mentioned that she would be re-stocking this collection on her shop today so thank goodness that they are still available!
This collection was inspired by the Halloween cult classic movie, Hocus Pocus. I remember seeing it only once as a little child and it scared the crapola out of me because I was way too young.. Also.. I didn't speak English at the time so I had no idea what was going on lol! Each color is inspired by an aspect of the movie, which I totally need to get on watching now that I am an English speaking adult lolol!

365 Days of Color I Smell... Children over Pixi Amazing Amethyst
I Smell... Children is a Blackened base full of deep Purple sparkle and smalled Purple hexes. I am fairly certain this color could reach opacity on its own. However! I really wanted the Purple to show through so I decided to layer it over a vivid Purple base to get this amazing, glowing finish on my nails. I did Two coats of I Smell... Children over Pixi Amazing Amethyst.

365 Days of Color Boouk! over Barielle Greenwhich Village
Boouk! was my instant favorite from this collection. This pretty polish is made up of Chocolate hexes, Copper hexes and square Golden glitter accents in a shimmery, light Taupey base. For this look I layered it over a Pinky nude from barielle and then did Two coats of Boouk! This is a beautiful glitter and also perfect for Fall.

365 Days of Color Black Flame Candle
Black Flame Candle is a sheer shimmery Black. This might actually do better layered over an opaque Black creme. What you see here is Four coats of Black Flame Candle. It is a really beautiful shade of shimmery Black. The shimmer seems to shift from Pink to Violet to Teal. Formula-wise it is sheer but buildable, next time I will definitely layer it so it lasts longer.

365 Days of Color Come Little Children over Barielle One Shade of Gray
Come Little Children is a mix of small Red and Black hex glitters suspended in a clear base. The density of the glitter makes it a perfect layering polish. I am absolutely in lurrrrve with this combination of the Gray base with the Black and red touches.

365 Days of Color I Put a Spell on You over OPI A Rose from the Dead
I Put a Spell on You is another perfect layering glitter polish. This pretty is made up Emerald Green hexes in varying sizes and small touches of Black glitter. LOOOOOVE it over this Pink base. It's an unexpected combination but it works so well!

And there you have 365 Days of Color Hocus Pocus inspired Collection for Halloween 2012! Don't forget to check 365 Days of Color Shop to get your favorites! Hurry before they are all gone.

Which are your faves? Mine are Boouk!, I put a Spell on You  and I smell... Children.

O.P.I Germany Collection Fall 2012- Part One

Hello lovely readers!!

Today I have the first part of O.P.I's Germany Collection for Fall 2012. This collection is made up of 12 fantastic Fall inspired shades. Six cremes, Six vampy shimmers. Today I will be showing you the creme portion of the collection. There is a nice range of classic and unusual with these shades and that is always a plus in any collection.
To see close- up shots just continue reading ♥.
O.P.I Don't Pretzel my Buttons
Don't Pretzel my Buttons is a fantastic, Sandy toned beige creme. I was worried that it would be far too Yellow for my skin tone but, guess what?! It is just perfect, it just enough Brown in it to make it flattering! I love Fall nudes done well and this one is right on the money. Formula-wise this shade gave me no issues and did great in Two coats.

O.P.I My Very First Knockwurst
My Very First Knockwurst is a light Pink toned beige creme with a slight hint of smokiness. Another great Fall nude. The formula on this shade is great and easy to work with. I only needed Two coats for full even coverage.

O.P.I Berlin Done That
Berlin Done That is your classic Fall Putty Greige. Remember You Don't Know Jaques? Make it a bit lighter and Grayer and you have Berlin Done That. I LOVE shades like this and never get sick of them. They always flatter and they are always chic. The best part? They flow seamlessly from season to season. I used two coats for this swatch.

O.P.I Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!
Nein!Nein!Nein! Ok Fine is a deep, deep Grey creme with a slight deep Green undertone. This is like if Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow and Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees got together and had a creamy baby you'd get this shade. This is Fall perfection right here.

O.P.I Don't Talk Bach to Me
Don't Talk Back to Me is my new favorite ugly-pretty go to color. I freaking LOVE this shade. Unusual, bold and just a bit out there. DTBTM is an amazing Chartreuse creme laced with delicate Silver shimmer. Just enough to take the base color out of murky territory. This color has a great Two coat formula.

O.P.I Schnapps Out of It
Schnapps Out of It is another unusual shade. In my notes I have several descriptions for this color... The one I landed on was "dirty Coral" laced with some ultra fine Silvery shimmer. This color has had a mixed reaction from bloggers and I personally still don't know how I feel about it. On the one hand the color is pretty flattering on my skin tone, on the other... It's just a weird color... Formula wise this color was the best in this half. I could have almost done with just one coat but I did Two.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with this half of the collection. I like that there are some nice classic, full coverage nudes, a sultry deep shade and some more unusual colors for those of us who are just a little out there. O.P.I never disappoints in the formula department and even less with the naming. How punny are the names?! Just LOVE it. I can't wait to show you guys the vampy shimmer half of this collection because there are some truly memorable colors in that line-up. Colors, I feel, we will look back on years from now and still "oooh and ahhhh" at how amazing they are/were.

What are your thoughts on this half?

Wet 'n' Wild Megalast Nail Color Swatches

Happy Hump-Day!!

Today I have some swatches of some new releases by Wet 'n' Wild. These three pretties come from their Megalast Salon Nail Color Collection. Wet 'n' Wild was very generous to the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida. They sent each girl Four different nail colors, Three eye shadow palettes and a gel eye liner. I've been seriously LOVING my new Wet 'n' Wild products.
I've been loving their shadow palettes so much that I went on a huge bender the other day and I got, just about, every Three pan and Eight pan palette they have. So, back to the nail color. These Three are great cremes with amazing formulas and the brush... I'll go on about the brush some...
To see swatches of these Three beautiful colors just continue reading.

These Three shades have such an amazing formula. They were all very creamy, smooth and even. The pigmentation on these colors is absolutely perfect. They were all Two easy coats of color. Now, onto the brush: IT IS AMAZING! It is one of those brushes that girls will either love, or hate. It is a wide and flat brush  but it is rounded at the end so it conforms perfectly to the curve of my cuticle. I was getting my whole nail covered in just ONE effortless stroke of the brush, no clean- up required.

Wet 'n' Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint
I Need a Refresh- Mint is a lovely shade of true Sky Blue creme. This is right on trend for the season. This color went on like butter. I love clean shades of light Blue like this one. They are very flattering and just easy to look at.

Wet 'n' Wild Wet Cement
Yummy yummy Taupe perfection. Wet Cement reminds me of classic shades like O.P.I You Don't know Jaques. This is one of those colors that will look good on anyone. I pretty much fell in love with it   at first brushstroke.

Wet 'n' Wild Through the Grapevine
Through the Grapevine is a lovely shade of Plummy Fuchsia creme. This is one of those shades that is vibrant and dusty at the same time. Very classic shade, easy to wear. This particular color could have almost been a one coater.
Wet 'n' Wild really does put out some amazing products at amazing prices. I really loved these Three and was so pleasantly surprised by the awesome brush these have. Bravo Wet 'n' Wild! These are available at Walgreens.

Thoughts?

Rich Shades for Spring 2012 from Milani

Good Morning loves!!

Today I will be showing you Three shades from Milani's new Spring 2012 Line-up. I actually have a mini- Milani series coming your way. These shades are staple colors. They are really pretty but for me, a bit safe. Of course in every new line-up of colors you have to have your standard colors. I am vowing as of now to give my Milani's more love. Every time I wear a Milani polish I remember how awesome their polishes are....
To see swatches of these Milani shades just keep reading after the jump.

These have AMAZING formulas. They all practically applied themselves. They were all Two coats each and done without base or top coat. The brushes on Milani polishes are just perfection. I ♥ Milani.

Milani Teddy Brown
Teddy Brown is a nice Smokey Taupe creme. This is a very neutral and safe color. You really can't go wrong with shades like this one. It wears nicely and it flatters very much. This dries a lot Greyer on the nail that what it looks like on the bottle due to the swirl of Smokey color.

Milani Deep Thoughts
Mmmmmm This deep Plum shimmer is just AWESOME and done lol.... I love this because it looks like what I thought O.P.I's Russian Navy would look like on the nail. It is a deep Eggplant shimmer with a flash of Magenta shimmer. This color has a super saturated formula and it applies like butter. As far as Spring "vamps" go.... This one is much better than Vampsterdam by O.P.I.

Milani Dark Coffee
I don't like Brown. That said Dark Coffee is a great shade of Brown for those who love Brown to have. It is a nice clean shade of Milk Chocolate Brown. It looks really nice on, but Brown is just not my thing.
That is today's Milani pretties. Tomorrow I have some BEAUTIFUL shades coming your way. Not that these are not pretty, because they are.. They are just too grown up for my mood today. I am crushing hard on Milani right now!!

Thanks for stopping by!
