Color Club In True Fashion Fall 2012 Collection Swatches

Good evening!! 

  Are you guys all prepped for Thanksgiving? Well, those of you celebrating tomorrow :). My mom and I are cooking Thankgsgiving dinner this year. I am pretty excited as I love Thanksgiving and all the yummy food! 

 So, I am pretty ashamed it took me this long to get through these swatches of the Color Club In True Fashion collection for Fall 2012. But hey! Better late than never right?! This will be my last post until Sunday, maybe Monday. I want to enjoy the Holiday and maybe even partake in some Black Friday madness... !!! So to those of you celebrating tomorrow; Happy Thanksgiving and good luck to those of you shopping on Black Friday!

Color Club In the Limelight

 In the Limelight is, without a doubt, my favorite shade in this entire 12-piece collection. This is a very vivid shade of Periwinkle creme. This is an unique color in my collection which is nice. I'm just really in love with this particular shade of Blue-Purple-Periwinkle. The bummer? The formula on this color is pretty terrible. The main things I found problematic is that this shade has a thin, sheer formula. It likes to streak, drag and leave bald patches. The key is to keep a light hand and be patient. I used Three coats. Luckily, it dries fast! The trouble with the formula is so worth the color payoff for me!

Color Club By Design

 By Design is a nice, classic Fall Plum Purple creme. This is a nice shade but it is not particularly unique. This shade has a nice Two-coat formula.

Color Club Model Behavior

 Model Behavior is an outstanding shade of shimmering metallic Copper. Think of a bright, shiny new Penny and you get Model Behavior. I love that the formula on this color is not a brushtrokey mess, you can thank all that beautiful micro shimmer. This color applies very easily and does great in Two coats.

Color Club Muse-ical

Muse-ical is a very dark, Graphite Grey creme. Once again, nothing very unique but still a nice classic for Fall. This color has a great formula and could have almost been One coat, I did Two.

Color Club Look Book

 Look Book is a Coraly Red creme. I had trouble photographing this color as my camera wants to turn anything even remotely Coral into bright Orange :(. This is a nice cheery Red for Fall. Look Book has a great Two coat formula.

Color Club Style Icon

 Style Icon is a great dark, vampy Red creme, very traditional for Fall and the holiday season. The formula on this shade is very nice and I used Two coats.

Color Club Fashion Moment

 Fashion Moment is a Blackened Plum creme-jelly. This color looks Black in most lighting but once in a while you can catch the Purple glimpses. If you are into Vampy-Fall, this is your color. Fashion Moment has a nice Three- coat formula.

Color Club Editorial

 Editorial is in the Peridot green family. This color leans more on the Green side so I actually kind of like it. Editorial has a very shimmery formula, and unlike many other Peridot color, this one is not brushstrokey. I used Three thin coats for this swatch.

Color Club First Looks

 First Looks is a beautiful Blackened Teal shimmer. This color was also an immediate standout for me. The formula on this color is crazy saturated and pigmented. I could have done with one coat, but I did Two.

Color Club Personal Stylist

 Personal Stylist has the same shimmering qualities that Editorial does. This polish is an electric shade of glowing Cobalt Blue. I believe I used Three coats for this swatch. I really enjoyed this shade as well.

Color Club Show Time

 Show Time is a deep graphite creamy base with tons of Silver micro shimmer. This polish has a great formula and does great in Two coats. I really liked this shade a lot more on the nail than in the bottle.  

Color Club Port-Folio

Port-Folio is an amazing Violet-Green duochrome shimmer. This polish's color shift is very obvious and can be seen in any type of light. This is a crazy awesome polish and the formula on it is great! I believe I used Three coats for my swatch. 

 This is a nice collection, full of great classic colors as well as some beautiful stand-out shades. This collection is already available from many e-tailers!

New Fall/ Winter 2012 Shades from Barielle

Happy Thursday!! 

  This evening I am back to share with you some of Barielle's new releases for Fall/Winter 2012. This post actually covers Two of their Fall/ Winter, Five polish sets. Barielle to me always means fantastic cremes and they definitely delivered on that expectation with these Two collections.

The first Four colors are from the New York Style Set. One of my shades suffered an accident in transit, Soho at Night. So I only have four to show you from this set.

Barielle Big Apple Red

 This shade is exactly what it sounds like. Big Apple Red is a beautiful shade of deep, Blue toned Red creme. There is something very classic about this polish. The formula is perfect in every way and does great in Two coats, could have been one though.

Barielle 5th Avenue Boutique

 Fifth Avenue Boutique is a nice vivid Coral creme. This particular shade of Coral leans a bit more on the Orange side. I really like this shade against my skin tone and I think it would flatter just about anyone. The formula is great and does best in Two coats.

Barielle Central Park

 Central Park is a beautiful, muted shade of Jade Green creme. There is the slightest hint of light smokiness to this shade of Green. Once again a very wearable color and the formula is an absolute dream.

Barielle Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village is a Pink toned beige creme with a hidden Green micro shimmer. This is an interesting take on a nude and I fell in love with it almost instantly. The formula on this shade is great and only needs Two easy coats. 

The following Five shades are from the Runway Fever five piece set. 

Barielle One Shade of Grey

 I can't tell you how annoyed I get at any and all "50 Shades of Grey" references. That book series is the worst thing to ever happen to literature.... Anywho, I am happy to report that this color is actually pretty great. One Shade of Grey is a nice concrete shade of Grey with slight Blue undertones. This color has a great formula and does great in two coats.

Barielle Erica's Pencil Skirt

 Erica's Pencil Skirt is a deep, vampy Burgundy creme-jelly with some slight Brown undertones. This is a Fall classic. Not really my thing but still a great shade for the season. I did Two coats of color.

Barielle Allie's Lace

 Allie's Lace is a beautiful, Pink toned, beige creme. I really loved this color and how wearable it is. The formula on this shade is amazing and does great in Two easy coats.

Barielle Jordana's Skinny Jeans

Jordana's Skinny Jeans is a beautiful metallic Denim Blue. I really LOVE this shade. I also think this color would be great for stamping. The formula on this color is amazing and does great in Two easy coats.

Barielle Rusted Vintage Boots

 Rusted Vintage Boots is an interesting shade of True Terracotta creme. This is Fall in a creamy liquid form :D. I wasn't sure how I felt about this shade but I really liked how it looked on me so I grew to really like it. Two easy coats. 

  And that does it for this Barielle post. Barielle cremes are just fabulous! They always make the application so very easy and neat. I've been a huge Barielle fan since the day I tried Decadence!

Sation Nailstock Collection Swatches and a bit of News

Happy Humpday! 

  Today is a special day for myself and Mr.LTHP (who is now on Twitter and IG @Mr_L_T_H_P go follow him for behind the scenes LTHP nonsense!). Today is our Three year wedding anniversary. May I say that these have been the fastest Three years of my life. It feels like just yesterday we were scrambling with wedding plans. Daniel (@Mr_L_T_H_P) is such an amazing husband. I really could not imagine a better man, he also also the reason why this blog exists. 

 My starting a blog was his idea, and with his support LTHP came to be. So yes, my polish addiction and all this craziness is in part his "fault" haha. He's an amazing person is all! So with that said, here are a few swatches of some of Sation's Nailstock Collection Colors. 

Sation RV There Yet?

 RV There Yet? is an AMAZING shade of creamy Teal. It is an unique color in that it is vivid, but Fall at the same time. It is a very clean and crisp shade of Teal, it seems to be the perfect middle-ground between Green and Blue. The formula on this color is very saturated with color but it is not thick. This color also dries to a cool semi-rubbery finish as seen in this photo. RV There Yet? does great in Two easy coats. I LOVE this shade!

Sation I Paint in Peace

 Dat Green! I Paint in Peace is a fantastic shade of deep Moss green creme laced with fine Silvery and light Green micro shimmer. This is a beautiful shade of Green and the shimmer really gives it a very unique touch, like a shimmery dustiness to the base color.  The formula on this shade is buttery smooth and does great in Two coats.

Sation I'm with the Bandanna

 Pardon the odd coloring of my skin in the next photos. One of my lights died the day I did the swatches for this collection. So I'm with the Bandanna is an almost metallic Taupe. This is an uber flattering color, and I love that it is not a taupe creme. Think of O.P.I You don't know Jacques but give it an intense, very dense shimmer finish and you get I'm with the Bandanna. I'm so happy that it is not a creme! The formula on this color is amazing and could have almost done with one coat but I did Two coats. This is a nice twist on a Fall classic shade.

Sation Imagine-Sation

 At first I was convinced that I was not going to like this color, and then I applied it and ate my words. See, in the bottle this looks like another deep Brown creme. Here's the kicker, it is actually a deep, deep Burgundy jelly with some brown undertones. Imagine-Sation is very vampy and has a very high shine. The formula on this color was just a little runny, so a light patient hand is necessary to achieve a smooth, even surface. I was pleasantly surprised with this shade.

 The Sation Nailstock collection is available now on the Miss Pro Nail site and they retail for $5.00. Now this is only Four of the shades but the collection is made up of quite a few more shades. If these Four are any indication of the rest of the collection then I must assume that they are all beautiful as well.

Pixi Fall 2012 Swatches

Happy Friday!! 

  Today I have a quick post to show you guys Three new(ish) polishes by Pixi. These three pretties were released for Fall/ Winter. I won't ramble much today and get straight to the polishes because I really want to get SO much stuff done today! I hate when it feels like there isn't enough time in the day to get done what I need done... Anywho.... POLISH! 

Pixi Classy Cocoa

 This is pretty much the most amazing, most awesome Brown polish I own right now. I.Don't.Like.Brown... That said.. Just look at this amazing color, how could I not like this?! The base is a light Chocolate Brown packed full of Coppery/ Golden shimmer. In some lights you can even see some slight Violet tones, they are very subtle though. This color is extremely flattering and has a great formula. I used Two coats for pictures.

Pixi Evening Emerald

 The name on this one throws me off lol.. This is not a Green polish. Well, what is it then? It is a beautiful, Blackened Teal shimmer. I love the darkened edges on the nail with this polish. The shimmer is really pretty and reflects light beautifully. I used Two easy coats for my swatch.

Pixi Amazing Amethyst

 Amazing Amethyst is not quite this Blue in person. It is however, a really vivid and pretty shade of shimmery Amethyst Purple. I've read on a lot of fellow blogger posts that this color doesn't feel very unique. I find it totally awesome. I was trying to find something similar in my stash but I came up empty, so in my stash this is actually a pretty unique shade. This color also has a great formula and does well in Two coats.

 I really like this small Fall collection, especially Classy Cocoa. All Three colors have great formulas, which is always nice. I really like the Pixi brush quite a lot. I think it's because it has a longer wand that most polishes. In my book, longer wands make for easier application. Pixi polishes are available from Target and retail for $8.00.

O.P.I Germany Collection Fall 2012- Part Two

Happy Humpday! 

  Today I am finally posting the Second half of O.P.I's Germany Collection for Fall 2012. In this half we have some epic shimmers. Mark my words! These will be the polishes that become VVHT in the future... So get em now while they are in stores. Three colors in particular really stand out to me in this portion: Germanicure, Every Month is Oktoberfest and Deustch you Want me Baby? They are seriously beautiful and perfect for Fall. [HERE] is the first half of the collection. 

O.P.I Every Month is Oktoberfest!

 Gahhhhh!! Are you seriously serious?! Ok So, if Clarins 230, MaxFactor Fantasy Fire O.P.I BlackCherry Chutney all got together and had a love-baby you would get Every Month is Oktoberfest! This polish embodies all that is perfect and beautiful for Fall. A deep inky shimmery base laced with micro copper/golden shimmer. I love the darkened edges when on the nail and how it glows in the sun. The formula on this color is really nice, maybe even sheer enough to be layered (have yet to try it). For my swatch I used Three easy coats.

O.P.I German-icure

German-icure is the Copper toned sister of Every Month is Oktoberfest. This shade is the first Copper shade I have ever truly enjoyed. The shimmer in this polish has a very glowy quality and the darkened edges when on the nail. I am all about this lovely micro-shimmer right now. I used Three coats of this shade.
 

O.P.I Deutsch you want me Baby?

 This did not photograph right. It is not quite this vivid of an Orange. I would call it a Burnt Orange with Coppery undertones, DYWMB? is also rocking the micro shimmer, this time in Orange and Golden. Very Fall, totally gorgeous! This shade also has a great formula and does best in Two coats.

O.P.I Danke-Shiny Red

Danke-Shiny Red is a lovely, metallic Candy Apple Red. This Red is packed with shimmer and the formula is so perfect, it could almost do with One coat. I did Two for my photos. The only way I'm a fan of Red is when they are this amazing! 

O.P.I Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue

 Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue  is a jewel-toned metallic Blue with just the slightest Green undertones. This is a pretty shade but with such amazing shades in this collection, this one feels a little flat to me. I used Two coats for my swatch, formula-wise it is a great polish. 

O.P.I Suzi And The 7 Dusseldorfs

 Suzi And The 7 Dusseldorfs is a medium, Red toned Purple shimmer. There is a hint of Blue shimmer in the base. It is a really pretty color, but much like the Blue shade it falls a bit flat for me. It's pretty but I think my standards were set waay to high by the first three shades in this post and even some of the cremes! 

 I am a huge fan of this entire collection and I am hereby placing it under my Epic WIN tab. Those shimmers!! Seriously guys! Get them now while they are readily available! Colors like German-icure and Every Month is Oktoberfest are the colors that keep us talking for years. They will become classics, I can feel it :D. I love the range of colors and variety in this collection, there is something for everyone. I am so glad I am around for these colors and that I actually have them!!! You guys know what I mean right (Hello Mad as a Hatter)? I shall cherish them for ever!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Sarah of Chalkboard Nails

Happy Sunday!! 

  I'm kinda sad guest week is ending! I wish I could feature even more talented, amazing bloggers. But now it's time to get back to biz! I hope you guys missed me, these girls have made it SO hard for me to come back with a bang lol! I mean, just go back through the past Two weeks of guest posts and there is so much beautiful, perfect work done by my fellow beauty/ nail bloggers. I'm gonna have to sit down and think really hard about what I'ma do to wow you guys back into loving me hahahaha!
  SOOO! Today's guest is a blogger is one that I look up to, quite honestly. Sarah of Chalkboard Nails may not have been around the blogging scene for long, but we all know who she is! I mean this girl, literally, burst into the nail art scene with designs that are so out-of-the-box, creative use of techniques and AMAZINg freehand skills. There is no stopping Sarah when it comes to busting out some unique and eye-catching nail art... Needless to say... I just HAD to have her on to finish out a week of amazing manicures!

Hello everyone! I'm so pleased to have been given the opportunity to write a guest post for the lovely Cristina. I hope you all enjoy what I've put together!

 I started off this manicure with a base of OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! I love the color because its dark and moody without being pitch black. Then, using a small nail art brush and OPI Alpine Snow, I painted on some tiny petals, grouping them together to create a random large flower pattern on all of my nails. The manicure actually looked pretty cool at this point, but I did want to add just a bit more detail to it. After cleaning off my nail art brush, I added some coral detailing in the middle of the petals using theBalm Coral Reef-ined. 

I'm very pleased with the way this came out! It kind of looks like a vintage-style pattern to me, like something you'd find on a gorgeous full skirted 50's dress or something. And really, can you go wrong with floral print? I think not. :)

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Jen The Polishaholic

Hi guys!!! 

  Today I have one of the best known nail bloggers ever. The amazing Jen from The Polishaholic. I don't think she needs much of an intro right?! I mean she is the swatching QUEEN and her photos are always to die for. AND she made me into a splatter mani-fiend! Even though Jen has not been a nail blogger for much longer than I have, she is one of the bloggers/blogs that I really look up to and admire. My blog wants to be like Jen's when it grows up!

Hi guys! 

  I am so excited to do a little guest post for Cris! LTHP is one of my favorite blogs, Cris is always over here making me lem everything while dazzling me with her nail art skills. When she asked me to do a post I had a little panic, doing nail art as a guest post on a blog that always does fantastical nail art is stressful haha! I sat down with about 15 ideas and finally settled on something Fall-ish. Maybe I'm a weirdo but I am so glad it's finally fall, we don't really have seasons in So Cal as it's perpetually summer but at least it's not usually as hot during "fall"! Everything I grab for lately to put on my nails is jewel toned or vampy, I'm obsessed you guys! 

Alright, so back to nail art. I went on a hunt for striping tape to do this, I saw Melissa over at The Daily Nail use it in one of her posts a little bit ago and I had to try something out with it! It seems like something that is good for people like me who fail at nail art. Good news, it's pretty easy to do and I'm loving the results...I'm pretty you will see a ton of mani's like this over on my blog soon since it's easy to do and it's a great way to spruce up a mani that is a couple days old. 

For the base of what I'm calling "Fall Starburst" I started out painting my nails with a coat of Essence Gorgeous Bling Bling, which is a gorgeous burnt orange with flake like golden shimmer! Then I sponged on Essence Call Of The Wild , a dark green with green shimmer, and Sation Rock-A-Guy- Blue, an awesome dark blue creme! There was no pattern or anything, it actually looked quite fug on it's own...I didn't even take photos because I didn't want to remember how ugly that was on it's own. After everything was dry I busted out my striping tape and put 4-5 strips on each nail in a burst kind of pattern and went over it with a coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. Unfortunately I was a little too impatient with my top coat and it smudged some of the lines which of course looks a thousand times worse in a photo using macro than in real life...but I really liked how this turned out!

 I am so honored to have Jen on the blog today(Somehow.... I got my blogging GURUS to agree to be on my little corner of the interwebs, even I was surprised when they agreed lol). And how awesome is this look?! Jen brings up a fantastic point about how tape manis are an easy way to spruce up an old mani, or just create eye-catching looks with minimal effort. I LOVE the contrast of the creamy color on top of all the jewel tones. As I told Jen... This mani makes me wish I lived in a state where there actually are seasonal changes... Not just Summer and Summer "light" lol. Thank you so much Jen for this beautiful Fall Starburst!
