Sation Candylandia Gradient Nail Art and an Update

(**Press Sample**)
Good afternoon everyone!!

Last night I took a little poll on the Facebook page to see what you guys were interested in seeing today. Out of all the options you guys voted for "a gradient", so a gradient it is :D! Many of you also suggested a Textured gradient, that will DEFINITELY be happening soon! Today's gradient features some lovely, awesome shades from Sation's Candylandia collection. For this gradient I was inspired by [THIS PAIR] of Black Milk Clothing leggings.
Before I go onto the nail art I wanted to give you guys a little update on my visit to The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Not much happened as this was an initial consult visit. I did get scheduled to go back in June for about Four days of tests. It is going to be a long process, but I finally feel like I am at the right place, with the best doctors. I have not felt hopeful in a long time, this visit changed that for me.
The doctor who consulted with me was like no doctor I've ever spoken with before. He really inspired a lot of confidence in me and was very kind. He actually listened to what I had to say and showed legit concern. This is not something I want to be going through, but I am glad I am finally being treated by a great team of doctors at an amazing facility.
Now for a miss Muffin update: my poor kitty has a cold! But worry not, she has been to the Vet. She was given a shot of slow-release antibiotics. She is acting fine and active, eating etc, but I didn't want to bug her over the weekend as I could tell she felt "off". How 'bout that gradient!!?
This look started with a base of Sation's Love is in the Heir, which is a light, Greyed out Blue crelly. Using this shade as my base color mae all the difference when it came to building up my gradient. The light Blue tone really brought out the colors I was using to gradient over my light Blue shade. For the gradient I used colors from Sation's Candylandia collection. I went with Plenty of Frogs, Cast a Spill on You and Super Nail-tural Powers. I.LOVE.THIS.GRADIENT!!! I loved it SO much I didn't even do my signature coat of INM Northern lights!! WHAT?!! LTHP didn't put Northern Lights on a gradient?!!!!!! I know, I know haha... But just look at that shimmer from Cast a Spill on You(Blue) and Plenty of Frogs!
This was probably the easiest gradient I've ever done and I chuck that up to combination the base color and the formula of the shades I used to gradient. The shimmers really made the seams blend effortlessly and created such beautiful airbrushed-looking surfaces. Choosing the correct base color for gradients really does make a difference and I am just now learning this myself. I should film a tutorial on how I do my gradients, huh? I know everyone has their own way of doing them, and you guys have been asking for a while... I've just been a horrid Youtuber :(.

Here is a shot of my base color Love is in the Heir. This shade comes from Sation's Marie Antoinette inspired collection. This shade is a soft, muted Blue with some slight Grey undertones and a subtle twinkling Silver sparkle. Finish-wise it is between a creme and a jelly, more jelly than creme. The formula was smooth, even and easy to work with. I used Three thin coats since I wanted to show you guys a swatch of this shade as well. Girls with longer nails, or those of you who are not a fan of "visible nail line (VNL)" might need a few more coats for full coverage. I really enjoy soft, dreamy shades like this one. Do you?
I am SO sorry about the hiatus over the past week. I'm hoping to break that cycle of absences for a while. I have SO much nail polish to go through. I also got some new stamping plates, the Pueen sets! I had not gotten new stamping plates in like a year or so! I am SO excited about these Pueen plates though, they are ADORABLE!

And just a quick reminder that Google reader will be going away on July 1st! I've set up shop over at Bloglovin. I just LOVE how easy it is to use and they also have an iPhone/Droid app! Make sure you are following LTHP on Bloglovin so you don't miss out!! Also, [HERE] is a full list on ways to keep up with the Let them have Polish! nonsese!
Follow on Bloglovin

I've really missed you guys so very much! I hope you guys liked this gradient! I kinda wanted to eat my nails when I wore it :)!

Muffin Monday!! Sation Of Corset I'll Call You and Guillotine Grape

Gah it's so late!!

Sorry!! Muffin.. Muffin refused to pick me a polish this week lol. So I ended up going with two of the shades she rejected haha. I'm going to keep it short and sweet. It's pretty late and I'm pretty tired. That said, I LOVE this look!
My base shades are Sation's Of Corset I'll Call You and Guillotine Grape. For my gradients I used the same Two shades. Doing gradients with Of Corset I'll Call You was fantastic because it is a soft, squishy Pink. I've found that using jelly-like polishes on gradients makes them such a breeze! I topped my gradients with INM Northern Lights.  The stamps were done using China Glaze Passion. The stamp on on my ring finger is from Bundle Monster plate BM202 and the lace-y patterns are from BM323. I finished the whole look off with one final coat of SV.

And here is a fun collage of Muffin's indecision haha!

Have a good night my darlings!! I will be back sometime tomorrow!!

Never too Old to have Icing on the Cake... Or a Makeup Stash Video

Badum Tssss- See What I did there? lolol

Anywho, tomorrow is my 26th Birthday!! Say what? Anywho, it seemed fitting to post these B-Day Collection polishes by Aphrodite Lacquers :D! As of this very second my nails are naked and still pretty nubby, but growing out nicely. I still have not decided what kind of mani I want to rock tomorrow but it will definitely be bright and fun! I'm thinking I might be celebrating in more Aphrodite Lacquers B-day Polishes. They are just so cute and some of them match my new hair colors (pictures coming soon).

Aphrodite Lacquers Icing on the Cake over Sation Holiday Golightly
Icing on the Cake is a beautiful and delicate blend of Satiny White hexes in small varying sizes suspended in a light, micro shimmery base. I really love the snowy, ethereal effect Icing on the Cake created over my soft Aqua base. The glitter spread on this polish is fantastic. This pretty topper is definitely the icing on any manicure!

Aphrodite Lacquers Never too Old
Never too Old is a sheer Black jelly packed full of twinkling Violet-Pink- Blue multichrome shimmer. This shade is pretty sheer on its own so I had to build it up to achieve this look. I think I used Four thin coats of Never Too Old. That said the formula is actually even and easy to work with, just sheer. I kinda actually love how it looks in the photos, it has depth. This shade could also be layered over dark colors to create cool and different effects.

ANNNDDD many of you had been requesting that I do a video about my makeup stash. So guess what?!! Videoooo yo yo! I can't thank you guys enough for all the amazing feedback on my You Tube channel. I am so excited to get going with tutorials and the continuation of the FAQ series. Very excited!

Also here is a random vlog update!!
I can't believe I'm turning 26 tomorrow!! Off I go to decide what to put on my nails for my 26th Birthday... I don't feel 26... What is 26 even supposed to feel like haha?! I guess that is a good thing right? Being young at heart (and hair lol).

Lac Attack Magical Musings Collection: Part One

Good Morning!

Today I have some swatches of some of the shades Lac Attack and Glitta Gloves teamed up to create. These are shades from the Magical Musings Collection by Lac Attack. This collection was released during the Holidays but the colors are amazing and definitely magical!
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my ultra nub post. My nails are now shorter than they were in the Floam post from a few days ago :(. I don't mind nubs but they are WAY too short to photograph and need a few days so in the mean time I will share swatches I've stashed away.

Lac Attack Holidays in Hogsmeade over Aphrodite Lacquers Icing on the Cake over Sation Holiday Golightly
Got all that? lolol So the base shade is Holiday Golightly by Sation. I then did a layer of Aphrodite Lacquers in Icing on the Cake. I then followed that by a coat of Holidays in Hogsmeade. These were the nails I wore on X-mas Day. Holidays in Hogsmeade is an awesome mix of matte glitter particles in Green, White and Red suspended in a clear base.

Lac Attack Holidays in Hogsmeade over A England Holy Grail
I really fell on love with Holidays in Hogsmeade and I was finding excuses to wear it as often as possible during the Holidays. It looked AWESOME over A England Holy Grail 2.0.

Lac Attack Weasley's Wizard Wheezies over Bettina Peaches 'n' Creme
Weasley's Wizard Wheezies is a vibrant blend of Orange and Marigold Yellow Hexes and Bars in a clear base. The girls did an awesome job with this polish and the inspiration behind it. I will be showing a re-swatch of this soon. I like this layering and it looked great in person but I want to do a combo where you can get a better idea of all the textures and shades in WWW. It is such a FUN glitter topper.

Lac Attack Death Day Party over LVX Prussian
Death Day Party is a super interesting mix of very fine glassflecks that shift from dark Chocolate to Pink to Copper and Orange- Violet. It is pretty complex and different. I had a hard time figuring out what to layer this over because I had never seen a polish like this one. The second I tried it over Prussian I fell in love.

Lac Attack Felix Felicis over Bettina Gabrielle
This is a "bonus" swatch haha. This beauty was one of my Top Ten Handmade polishes of 2012.
I will see you guys tomorrow with more stashy swatches. The second my nails are at an acceptable length I will pick back up with swatching all the new collections and busting out some nail art!!

Most of these are currently sold out on the Lac Attack Site but you can follow her on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with shop re-stocks! I will be sharing the rest of the collection soon!

See you guys soon!

LTHP's Brand Crush of 2012!! Miss Pro Nail- Sation

Hello and happy new year's eve!!!

I'm kinda depressed about this year ending :(... For some reason I feel so unfulfilled for 2012... Like I got nothing done :(. I will tell you who got something done this year though, the AMAZING people over at Sation! This brand totally blindsided me this year. Sation is an old brand but in the past year they went through a MAJOR revamping. They re-designed the bottles, the brush and the formulation of their polishes. I love many brands but Sation has a special place in my heart and I will go on about that through out the entire post.
I pretty much fell in love with the new Sation the second I received my first batch of polishes for review. They were all so bright, the names were so quirky and unique. The girls at Sation are a pleasure to work with and I have nothing but praise for their treatment of me, and I'm sure all their customers.  To put it in plain and simple terms I just love Sation's vibe and their colors make me so very happy!
To see a little re-cap of "LTHP's Year in Sation" just keep on reading!

My introduction to the brand was a bright one! The firts batch of polishes I saw were from their California Gleamin' Collection (Summer 2012). I was smitten with the amazingly formulated neons and the incredible shimmers that left me utterly speechless.
Sation's neons are deliciously jelly-like in texture, but they build up to opacity like a creme. I've yet to come accross a Sation polish that had/has a problem formula. Some of my favorite colors of the year were in this collection...

Starting with this AMAZING shade of bright NEON Yellow. This baby is Let's make Lemonade.  I couldn't believe the formula on this shade!! It is just perfect!

How about Oh my Oceania? Remember this baby?! I've never had so many people ask me about a color before in my life. I think this might be my most favorite color of 2012 overall! And that is a big claim to make but just look at this beauty!!!

Ahhh Miss Mc Teal. Another stunning shimmer by Sation!

The Summer brightness was followed by a set of Six classic and beautiul cremes for the Little Horse on the Prairie Collection, Fall 2012. Have I told you guys about how much I love Sation's polish names? The girls really put a lot of time and thought into the naming process and it really shows. They also put out some of the most cohesive collections of the year. I am a sucker for a collection that has a flow thrhough all the colors.

Weed out the Wimps was a fast favorite for me. I love the simple beauty of this flattering Sage green creme.

And then there was Rock a Guy Blue. This shade is rugged yet sexy and the formula on this shade is just !!!! ♥.

The muted Fall was followed by a super fun collection called Class of Sation. This group of color is probably one of my favorites ever. All these shades were really "young". Meaning, brights, glitters and shimmers. Oh and the names!! The names in this collection were hilariously clever and so fitting to each shade. It was like the girls at Sation got together and made a collection just for me!

Loudest Color did me in the second I slapped it on!

But the real star for me was Miss Emo Shun All. This deep shade of Indigo Purple creme is like nothing I had seen before! Still to this day I am in awe of this shade!

Later on the released a "totally groovy" collection inspired by Woodstock. The Nailstock collection was made up of Earthy tones and classically awesome shades!

And then came the Glitter 1 series!! It was SO refreshing to see a "big company" take on quirky glitters. I love how the girls at Sation took notice of what the nail community was asking for: MORE GLITTER!! I loved the indie vibe of these amazingly unique toppers.
Sation went all out with shard glitters, black particles and neon glitters!! These babies have great formulas and they are just amazing! Brava Sation for taking risks!!!
Tall Dark and Has Some is definitelly a must have for anyone who loves Blue and glitter! And then there was Ego Friendlly and it's amazing mix of "toxic waste" shardy goodnes! I can't.. these are just too good!!!!!

Sation colors also inspired some of my favorite nail art looks of 2012!!
And with this post I bring my favorites of 2012 to a close! I hope 2013 is as amazing in nail polish as 2012 was. I hope Sation continues to be awesome and I am so very excited to see what the girls have up their sleeves for us in the coming year!
Sation polishes are available from misspn.com and they retail for $5-$7.

Which brand(s) blew you away this year?
