Random #EOTD and #FOTD-ness and Pics of my New Hair!

One might say...

That I might be on a slight bold makeup- cateye kick... I got so much amazing makeup for Christmas that I am finding every excuse possible to wear all my goodies. These are a few random makeup looks I've done recently that I wanted to share with you guys!
In some eventuality these posts will become a "dedicated post". Meaning I will only be covering a full "FOTD" instead of several looks in one post (unless you guys like this better).
To see some closeups of these eye looks, some full face shots and my new hair just continue reading!

All of these looks were done over a primed lid. I've been using the Original UD primer potion lately and seriously LOVING it!!!

BFTE Cosmetics Birthday FOTD
So, this is the look I wore on my birthday :D. This look features mostly BFTE Cosmetics pigments. On my lid I have Dragon Slayer, Chocolate and a bit of Sugarpill Junebug. On my browbone is BFTE Whisper. For my cat eye I used the BFTE Black gel liner. On my lower lashline I used Sugarpill Junebug on the outer corner and Goldilux on the inner V. There is also a touch of BFTE Electric on the center of my lower lashline.
I used my favorite Red Cherry Lashes (avail from BFTE Cosmetics). I wanna say these are Red Cherry Lashes #110. They are really big, but natural looking. On my waterline and tightline is the Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on pencil in Perversion.
Here is an IG shot of the full face. On my lips I wore Milani Red Label with a bit of Kissable Couture in Fantasies layered on top.

I'm a Mermaid!
This look features shades from the Lime Crime Aquatenea Palette as well as a Lime Crime Zodiac Glitter. On my lid I used Atlan-Teal and Nautilus Prime. On my browbone is BFTE Cosmetics in Whisper. My double cat eye was done with Lime Crime Uniliner in Lunar Sea and Milani Eye Tech Extreme liner in Black. On my lower lashline I used Lime Crime Atlan-Teal on the Inner V and Urban Decay Zeroon the outer lower corner. I also used some Lime Crime Zodiac Glitter in Cancer on my lower lashline. I placed the glitter using the Lit Cosmetics clear glitter base.
For this look I chose to wear some of my Ardell Cirque lashes. This pair is called Inspired. I tightlined in UD Perversion.
And here is an IG full face shot. The headband was made out of Recycled leather bits :D. On my lips I was wearing Milani gloss in Raspberry Pie

Christmas #FOTD
For this look I kept my lids simple and Golden because I wanted the focus to be on the ginormo lashes and dramatic Cateye. I used some shades in the Wet 'n' Wild Sparkle 'til Morning Palette. For the cateye I used the Milani eye tech extreme liner.
I have a pretty hooded lid and my impatience caused a little ooopsie. These are my most dramatic lashes, by far. Since it was Christmas I figured flash and sparkle would be ok. This pair is called Fantasy and they are from the Ardell Cirque Collection.
Here is an IG full face shot of my X-mas FOTD. My lips were done in Revlon lip butter in Candy Apple

ANNDNDNDND!! Here are some pics of my freshly colored hair! I finally touched up my roots and switched up the color placement. I use the Sally's Color Brilliance brights. I used the Magenta, Aqua and Purple shades. SO happy with how it turned out :D!
Thanks for stopping by today my loves. I had such a fantastic B-day. I was in the hospital, again, yesterday but I am feeling a little better today. I'm tired and sore but my plans today include: laying around, eating crackers and drinkin lots of Gatorade....

Are you feelin any of these looks?

My Current Obsession: Cateyes (and crazy colorful eyes)

Happy Humpday!

Today I want to share some recent eye-of-the-day (#EOTD) looks. My family was amazing on Christmas. My husband got me all this amazing makeup and a Zuca bag for me to store it all in. It was a really colorful X-mas!
Recently I've been slapping a cateye on just about every look I do. For a while I was intimidated by the look, and couldn't quite master it. I figured if I never practiced I'd never get better at it so I started doing lots of cat eyes and experimenting with different colors and angles and such. These are some of my favorite cateyes I've done (some have been... :-|).
To see some close-ups and find out which products I used just continue reading.

So... I am STILL terrible at taking notes of what I used where... I'm kind of guessing a little here on some of the older looks.

Cateye on Nude

This was a super quick, ten minute look. I primed my lid with NYX Skintone primer. I used the lighter tones from the Wet 'n' Wild Sparkle 'til Morning Palette. Keeping mainly in the soft Golden tones. I wanted the focus to be on the cat eye itself. For the cateye I used Milani's Eyetech extreme felt tip liner in Black. Right now, that is my go-to liquid liner. I'm wearing Ardell Accent lashes #305 and Maybelline The Colossal Falsies mascara. I.love.BIG.lashes!

Double-Lined
For this look I used the same products as the previous look. I'm kind of obsessed with the Wet 'n' Wild Sparkle 'til Morning palette. For the green line I used Wet 'n' Wild Megalast liquid liner in Turquoise. Which is actually kind of bright Green, and I love it. For the Black I used my Milani eyetech extreme pencil.

Lined in Lazuli
For this look I started by priming my lid with UD eyeshadow primer. I used mainly colors in the Deluxe Shadow Box by Urban Decay. My awesome dad got me this beautiful palette for X-mas On my crease and blended up towards my browbone is Fishnet. On my inner corner is Peace and I blended it out with Grafitti. To darken the crease I used Ransom and a little bit of a dark matte Purple from my Coastal Scents Creative Me #1 Palette. On my browbone is NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk set with Milani White Lie. The cateye was done with Lime Crime uniliner in Lazuli. My hubby got me Four of their liners and I am loving them. I am wearing Ardell #301 accent lashes.

Tropical Brights
This looks features a lot of BFTE Cosmetic pigmets. I primed my lid with the UD Shadow primer. I used BFTE Lemon on my lid. On my crease I have Addicted over Tangerine, which was bleanded up toward my browbone. I did a very, very, very soft and blended out Browbone in Lava Momma. I did a highlight on the center of my lid with Lit Cosmetics glitter in Beyond Pink (♥) set with the Lit Cosmetics glitter base. I replicated the accent on my lower lid as well. I highlighted my inner corner with BFTE Whisper. The outer corner on my lower lashline was done in Grape and I blended it in towards the inner corner. I am in LOVE with my BFTE pigments!! They are so smooth and easy to work with!  Here I am wearing Ardell lashes in Flirty, which have cute little stones on the outer corners. The cateye was don with Milani Eyetech Extreme Felt Tip liner in Black.

Here is a shot of the full face. My lips were done up in butter London lippy in Primrose Hill Picnick. Brows in Senna brow powder in Brunette.
I have quite a few more looks to share. Some are good and some not so much but I will still share them at some point anyways just to document progress. I've been really getting more and more into makeup and embracing my love of color. I stopped worrying about it looking bad. I can always take it off and start over :).

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's Eve and Day!!! What are your thoughts on cateyes?

Friday Wet 'n' Wild #EOTD Look Spam

Happy Friday!

Today I have a few eye of the day looks I've done over the past few weeks. I'm keeping things short and sweet today. Going crazy prepping for this weekend.  This weekend shall be crazy! The Makeup Show Orlando is this Sunday and Monday and I cannot wait.

Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone Look
This look features the neutral toned side of the Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone 8-pan palette. I LOVE this palette. For this look I used the shadows as labeled on the pans. My inner corner was highlighted with NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk and Set with Milani pressed powder shadow in French Vanilla.

Pop of Jade
This look features the Comfort Zone Palette once again. As I said.. I LOVE this palette. For this look I used the neutral side of the palette. For the Green liner I used the Wet 'n' Wild megalast liquid liner in Turquoise.

Dark but Fun
This look features the Wet 'n' Wild Blue had me at Hello 8- pan palette. I used a mix of both sides of the palette for this look. Mainly the matte colors in the palette.

All these looks started with a base of NYX skintone shadow primer. My mascara on all of these is Maybelline The Colossal and my brows were filled in with Milani Felt tip brow pen in Deep.

I hope I can come up with an awesome makeup look for this weekend! XO

Saturday #EOTD/ #FOTD Looks!

Happy Caturday!

Today I have Three Face of the Day looks I did over the past few weeks. I have not had a lot of opportunities to wear kick ass make-up lately and that's why these posts are getting a little more spaced out. These are three looks that I really loved and turned out waaaaaaaay better than I could have ever hoped for.
To see full face shots and close- ups of the eyes just continue reading!

Quick note: For all these looks I used the NYX Eyeshadow Base jar primer in Skintone.

Aquatic Smoke Look
This look features mostly shades from Wet 'n' Wild's Blue Had me at Hello Eight pan palette.

-Browbone: NYX Beanie
-Crease: NYX Jumpo pencil in Cobalt set with the right side Crease color in the BHAH and accented with the matte Black shadow in the same palette.
-Lid: Right hand side Eyelid color on the BHAH palette.

Lower lid lined with NYX Jumbo shadow pencils. Inner corner NYX Pencil in Electric Blue outer corner in NYX Cobalt and set in shadows from the BHAH palette.

Liner: L'oreal HIP Pencil in Navy
Mascara: Maybelline The Colossal
Brows: Milani Felt Tip Brow Pen in Deep Brown

For this look I even added some fake eyelashes, which I am still getting the hang of. I used the Cool Kitty lashes from the Katy Perry line. I was so proud of this look as I have never had such a "bold" look turn out so pretty and smooth.
I seriously love bright Aqua toned shadows!

Here is a full face shot. My lips were done with Revlon Balm Stain in Lovesick. This #FOTD was extra bold because my girlfriends and I were doing a "hoochie nite". Which is exactly what it sounds like lol. We all dressed in our best "Jersey Shore" getups and went bar hopping. No... This is not normal hahaha.

This is how the nite progressed lol.
We were a few drinks in here... In the middle is Miss Jen and in the leppy top is lovely Miss Nat, who just found out she's having a babeh! I am officially the only girl in my circle of girlfriends that does not/ will not have a baby.

Muted Smokey look
This look also features Wet 'n' Wild Shadows.
For this look I used the Silent Treatment palette and I used the colors as they are labeled. This is a GREAT palette and probably my favorite for natural looks. The shades have just enough contrast and the textures are just fantastic! Even in my inexperienced fingers these shadows manage to blend beautifully and smoothly.

Liner: L'oreal HIP Pencil in Black
Mascara: Maybelline The Colossal
Brows: Milani Felt Tip Brow Pen in Deep Brown
Cat eye: Milani Eye Tech Extreme

This is by far my best cat- eye yet!
Here is my full face shot for this look. My lips were done in Milani Glitzy Gloss in Showstopper.

Colorful Mermaid Look
I did this look using all Five colors in Lime Crime's Aquatenea palette. I freaking love these colors and the pigmentation and textures are out of this world! Clearly I am no make-up artist and I'm sure this look could have used... More... More what? IDK... But more! I can't wait to play with this palette again soon! I wanna add some vivid Pink and maybe some gems and pearls for a real fantasy mermaidy look.

Browbone: NYX Beanie
Crease and Lid: Nautilus Prime (darker blue), Atlanteal (lighter aqua), Pearl-ple
Lower lid: Seahorse Discourse, Coral of the Story

Liner: L'oreal HIP Pencil in Navy
Mascara: Maybelline The Colossal
Brows: Milani Felt Tip Brow Pen in Deep Brown
Lid liner: Milani Eye tech extreme

Lips in Revlon Lip butter in Peach Parfait.

Here is my full face shot for this look. Simple but eye catching. I got quite a few compliments on my eye makeup this day so I can't wait to play with these colors some more to create more elaborate looks.
That is all for today! I hope to have more looks soon! I miss playing with my make-up.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cult Nails Deal With it

Good afternoon lovely people!!

Today I have the first of Five looks I will do featuring the amazing colors from the Cult Nails Untamed Collection (A.k.A Coco's Collection). The quick story behind these Five amazing colors is Maria's youngest daughter Coco, now 13, is all about creating colors with mom. This is one fierce teenager. When asked what her inspiration was for the colors she simply answered " The colors themselves are the inspiration." Hells yeah!! This girl has it going on!
So anywho, Coco created Five beautifully unique colors and today I will be showing you her favorite shade from the collection; Deal with It. This will be the first of Five fun looks I will be featuring using Coco's colors.
To see this look and a swatch of Deal with It just continue reading.

For this look I wanted to do an edgy version of something "cutesy". I ended up really loving this look and rocking it for a few days as the polish held up like iron.
So for this quick look I started with two flawless coats of Deal with It. For the cute heart- band stamps I used Red Angel plate RA01. On my Pinkie and Index finger I did a coat of Wet 'n' Wild Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Nite (Black and Gold Hexes in a clear base) from the Fergie collection. For the little accents of Gold glitter I used a the Milani Art of Gold striper. On my thumbs I did the heart design. I love the edgy cuteness of this look.

Here is my swatch of Deal with It.
So, this electric shade of Lime Green is PACKED with Gold and Green shimmer that makes it look glassy and deep. It's such a fun color FULL of personality. There is quite a bit of Yellow in this Green so it makes it very vibrant and juicy looking. The formula is nothing short of perfection, just two easy coats.
There are tons of swatches out there of this amazing collection. You guys should definitely check them out! Soon I will have my next look on this mini- series. These colors are WAAAYYY too much fun to just swatch!! MUST PLAYYYY!!!

What do you guys think?

LTHP Dabbles! My very first #EOTD Post!

Trying new things is always exciting...

Exciting and unnerving! I've been working up the courage to post this for a while.... For some months now I had been toying with the idea of featuring more than just nails on LTHP. Now, I know this blog is called Let them have Polish and all but... I'm a girl, and this girl also loves make-up! Make-up and I had a little fight and we stopped talking for a while but that has changed now. I was intimidated by make-up and color but blogging and being exposed to so many talented ladies left me wanting to give make-up a second chance!
With the encouragement of some lovely ladies in my beauty blog networking groups I started playing with my eye make-up and taking pictures. I'm not great at make-up but that being said... Remember when I first started blogging? I had no idea what I was doing then either so I'm hoping with time and practice my make-up skills will improve as well as my picture taking. Just like I did with my nails. So... Yeah! Here's my first Eye of the day(s) post!
These are all looks that were done early in the morning right before work. I've been thinking of calling this little experiment " Make-up for the working girl". These are VERY basic looks. I always see AMAZING stuff from makeup gurus like Vintage or Tacky, Nikkietutorials and my awesome friend Miss Phyrra so I figured I could feature some "basic" make up for those of us who are still learning :D...

I will go ahead and apologize for the blurr in quite a few of these pictures. I'm still getting the hang of photographing my face. Second lame excuse: I'm taking these pics in the morning right before I leave for work so I'm kind of in a rush lol. I did the pictures in the post in "chronological" order and towards the end of the post the pictures become a bit more clear. I really hope you guys like this post. This was a lot of fun to work on and adding new features to LTHP keeps it fun for me :D! I might start posting full face shots soon... Not quite all comfy with that yet.
I don't really have the time to take notes in the morning of what I am using and where I am placing it but these looks are SO very simple. I don't use high end make up. For the most part I use drugstore make-up. I'm really looking forward to placing some indie orders. I do not use a special primer for my eye shadow (yet). I've been using my Reviva Labs make-up primer on my lid and it seems to work great.

I think some of my favorite eye looks have been in this color combination. I find that when my eyes have been done up in Pinks, Purples and Corals they pop more.

Golden Candle lit Look
This was another look I really loved. I love how simple it is, and yet it is so very flattering. I read somewhere that Golden/ Coppery lit looks like this are winners because they give you a healthy candle lit glow. I kept it very low key this day.

Upper Lid:
Revlon Colorstay Shadow Quad in Neutral Khakis
Maybelline Golden Halo

Lower Lid:
Maybelline Golden Halo
Revlon Neutral Khakis Definer color

Eye liner: Upper L'oreal Intense Liquid Pencil Liner in Brown
Eyebrow: Milani Brow Tint Felt Tip Pen in Deep Brown
Mascara: Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express, Lower Reviva Hypo Mascara

I really enjoyed this look. This is perfect for those lazy days!
I'm sorry I did not take notes of what I used where but as you can see these looks are VERY basic. As I said above: This is my work make-up. If I can do these, anyone can do these :D. I don't use fancy brushes, just a little set I have from EcoTools which gets the job done good enough for me. I realize now just how much I missed playing with makeup. I was intimidated by make-up, I realize now how silly that sounds.

I really hope you guys enjoyed this post! I had a lot of fun putting it together and working on these looks. How lucky am I that my work is flexible about nails and make-up :D!? The perks of working on the beach....

Thank you for stopping by and... Um... Be gentle? loool!
