China Glaze Avant Garden Collection Swatches- Part One

Hello!!

Yesterday I held a little "poll" on Facebook to see what you guys wanted to see today and ya'll voted for the China Glaze Avant Garden swatches. This post will focus on Six of the Avant Garden Shades (and yes, I will be sharing the other six shades :).
China Glaze did a beautiful job with this collection. All the colors are definitely Spring-perfect and they all compliment each other. There is a nice range of shades in this 12 piece collection.
To see close ups of these pretties just continue reading ♥.

China Glaze Fade into Hue
Fade into Hue is a dreamy shade of Periwinkle creme. This polish gave me a little bit of trouble with photos. It kept wanting to come off a tad more vibrant in pictures than it is in person. Think of this shade with strong Grey undertones. Like a cloudy Sky Blue. I'm not sure how this compares to Secret Periwinkle but they might be cousins. The formula on this shade was just a little patchy but keeping a light hand remedies that issue. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On
I was SO sure I was going to loathe this color... It was the complete opposite! This might be one of my very top picks out of this entire collection. Keep Calm, Paint On (LOVE the name) is a lovely minty Seafoam green with a strong Pearly finish. My fear with this shade was that it would look dated, or frosty. SO GLAD it is a beautiful Pearly finish with a perfect application. I had no issues with the formula on this one and only needed Two coats for my swatch. Feeling stressed? Put this on your nails, stare at it while counting to 10... You will feel better!

China Glaze Fancy Pants
Fancy Pants is this trendy shade of vivid Cobalt Blue with subtle Pink- Copper shimmer. The shimmer is so much more evident in the bottle than on the nail. The Blue creamy base is almost too dense to allow the sparkle to show through when the polish is applied. That was a slight bummer. That said, I still adore this shade and the shimmer is obvious enough to make this polish uniquely beautiful. This color has a great formula and could have almost been one coat for me. I did Two coats for my swatch.

China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around
Dandy Lyin Around is the most angelic shade of shimmering White. This shade is so chic, clean and just plain pretty. The shimmer in this is very fine and Silvery- Pink so it has a snowy quality about it. The formula was slightly thick but not problematic. I used Three thin coats for full opacity. It is best to wait between coats with this shade. And yes, I will comp this with Frosty. Though I'm sure they are quite different.

China Glaze Budding Romance
Budding Romance was an instant favorite for me. This is an edgy shade of Light Olive Green with strong Yellow undertones. This shade has an AWESOME creamy-jelly formula so the finished look is a ridiculously shiny, squishy shade of fierce Green. I used Three thin coats for my swatch. Make sure you are wearing a base coat under this pretty to avoid stains!

China Glaze Tart-y to for Party
How great are these names!? Tart-y for the Party is a beautiful shade of cool toned Lilac creme. I love this shade because it is more vivid than other "pastel" Purples to come out this Season. This shade is classic and still beautiful. The formula on this beauty was buttery smooth. I used Two coats for my swatch.

China Glaze knows the way to my heart. Amazing cremes in fun and interesting colors, fantastic formulas and quirky names... What more could you want? I can't wait to try out the other half of this collection. I am SO in love with the Six in this post. I'd have to say my top picks are Budding Romance, Dandy Lyin Around and Fancy Pants. Fade into Hue and Tart-y for the Party are a refreshing take on the more classic colors. Keep Calm, Paint On is on a league all it's own... Could it be I've found my favorite color for Spring in this collection?

Do you have any picks from this half?

More Picks from Sation's California Gleamin' Collection

Happy Tuesday!!!

Today we are going back to some Summer shades by Sation. These six pretties come from the California Gleamin' LE collection. So... Can you guys tell I'm on a yellow kick?
To see swatches of these awesome shades just keep on reading.
Sation Miss McTeal
Miss McTeal.... Where do I start? Should I just shut up and let you guys take in the pics? This is a beyond stunning shade of jewel tone Teal with flashes of Icy Blue smooth shimmer throughout. I love colors that seem to glow and this is definitelly one of them! This was Three thin coats.

Sation Lemon Pearl
Lemon Pearl is a fantastic shade of light, clean Yellow with smooth and subtle pearly shimmer. This shade of Yellow verges on pastel but it is still vibrant enough to stay out of Easter territory. Kinda love this!! Two easy coats.

Sation Board Girl Blue
Board Girl Blue is a vivid "Pool Liner" Blue creme. LOVE this to bits. But what's news? Put an awesome vivid Blue creme in front of me and I'm putty. This color has an amazing Tw coat formula.

Sation Let's make Lemonade
Let's make Lemonade is a most obnoxious neon highlighter Yellow. The amazing part about this polish? NO UNDIES REQUIRED!! What you see here is Three effortless coats of Let's make Lemonade. The formula is almost jelly like. I had zero application issues and the color was as retina searing as any neon out there. I LOVE this!

Sation Glint's and Glam
Glints and Glam is a very "fairy-like" polish. The base is a soft Blush of Pink jelly PACKED full of glitter. The glitter in this is a subtle silver holo glitter in small pieces and medium hexes. I decided to wear it alone for these pics and I was happy with Two coats. This is a perfect pop of soft Pink sparkle.

Sation You Butter tell Me
I know what you're probably thinkin'.... Wait? Didn't I just see this? Nope! LOL You Butter Tell Me is a true neon Yellow. What I mean by that is that Let's make Lemonade seems to have just a slight hint of green to make it that highlighter shade of Yellow where this is a bit "warmer". Think of neon egg yolks. And guess what? I really LOVE this one too! Two easy coats.
For a long time I was not a fan on neons because the formulas sucked, the color selection wasn't that great or whatever... 2012 has turned into the year of the neon for me, personally. Yes, there has been a TON of glitter madness coming out but I've seem to hit a neon phase and I am LOVING all these awesome colors we have been seeing this season. I've also finally learned to appreciate Yellow polishes so I'm on a slight Yellow kick. And, hello TEAL gorgeousness! I mean seriously!!! Killin me with those amazing shimmers!!!! Sation has got it going on for me lately and there is more coming soon!!

Thoughts? Faves?

My Best Friend's Wedding Series: Part 6

Holy Jeebs!!

This wedding is approaching fast and hard! Believe it or not this Saturday my best friend in the entire world is getting married! I've been working on a series of manis inspired by her wedding colors and patterns. I am running so low on time to get all my ideas out there... I'm pretty much convinced that the "winning" design will be created on the spot for Lizy though... Here is what I came up with for this look.
This one I did with the bride in mind. My pearl application is not great but this would be soo much easier to do on an other person. Anywho as my base colors I have Zoya Christinna and NOPI Kim-plenty in Love. I stamped my ring finger with the cute polka dotted bow design from Konad plate M78. I topped the whole thing off with lots of SV to test the durability of the pearls.... They held up quite nicely.

I'm really bummed I may not get to show you guys all the things I wanted to do but I really just ran out of time... I will be throwing lots of Holiday swatches you way pretty soon though! This week is just a little crazy!! I'm leaving for P.R on Thursday and I am so not ready loool!!

What do you guys think?
♥ Cristina
