Because Matching your Nails to your Black Milk Leggings is a Thing Now

(**China Glaze Press Sample**)
Hello darlings and happy Wednesday!

It is a dark, Grey and gloomy day here in (what is supposed to be) Sunny Florida. I don't know about you guys, but bad weather makes me a sad panda. I get so lazy, slow and just plain out of it. I know I can't be the only one lol. Anywho, if you follow me on Instagram (@L_T_H_P), you know of my obsession with all things Black Milk Clothing. I am simply addicted to the shiny nylon goodness. Everything they make is so unique, fun and colorful.
Mermaid Leg and Nails photo DSCN6224_zps0ab9933f.jpg
I own about Seven pieces from Black Milk Clothing. Two of my favorites are my mermaid legs. I own them in Purple and Silver holo. I seriously want everything in this fabric, in all colors. I am so obsessed with anything mermaids. The "scales" are craaazy holographic. It was very hard to capture in my photos. Every time I wear my Black Milk pieces I always get so many compliments. I just adore their clothing to pieces.
So I really wanted to match my nails to my Silver mermaid legs, because you know, that is entirely a thing.
BM Mermaid Nails photo DSCN6259_zpsa0ee6929.jpg
I had to take this pic in weird lighting to get the holo to come out, the Sun was long gone at this pont. SO, for my mermaid nails I started with a base of China Glaze's Cosmic Dust from the Hologram collection. This is a lovely shade of light Gunmetal grey holographic awesomeness. For my mermaid scales stamp I used Red Angel stamping plate RA-111 and Konad Black special polish. I topped off my nails with some Seche Vite and called it a day. They were a perfect match to my fierce leggings.

Here is a shot of my base color Cosmic Dust. This holo has a nice-ish formula. As it applies it looks a bit frosty and streaky, but as it dries the streaks and frost disappear and turn into holographic awesomeness. I used Three thin coats to achieve evenness and full opacity. In the photo below I had not top coated my nails yet. When added a top coat, it did mute the holo finish just a bit. Sorry about my weird-looking skin here, I had a hard time capturing the holo effect properly.

Do any of you guys own any Black Milk clothing pieces? They are seriously amazing. Oh and for shiggles, here is a pic my husband took of me last time I wore my Silver mermaid legs. I had the huge honor and fangirl moment of having Black Milk share this photo on their Facebook fanpage. That same day they had also shared one of my photos on their Instagram as well. It was so surreal having my favorite clothing line share my photos with their fans!
Oh and for the record, there was no photoshopping done to this photo. This photo is a cellphone pic. I am naturally slim and will not make any apologies for it. People called me anorexic, a bad role model because I'm "too thin" blah blah blah.. WHATEVER. Us girls can't win.. We're too thin, we're too fat.. What is right then? Me, I'm happy with myself, I am happy with my body and I will flaunt it while I have it. My tattoo was done by tattoo artist Robbie Ludders of Sarasota, Florida.

Thank you so much for stopping by today my loves!! I'm off to see about doing an Independence Day mani. What is everyone wearing for the holiday?

Sation Candylandia Gradient Nail Art and an Update

(**Press Sample**)
Good afternoon everyone!!

Last night I took a little poll on the Facebook page to see what you guys were interested in seeing today. Out of all the options you guys voted for "a gradient", so a gradient it is :D! Many of you also suggested a Textured gradient, that will DEFINITELY be happening soon! Today's gradient features some lovely, awesome shades from Sation's Candylandia collection. For this gradient I was inspired by [THIS PAIR] of Black Milk Clothing leggings.
Before I go onto the nail art I wanted to give you guys a little update on my visit to The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Not much happened as this was an initial consult visit. I did get scheduled to go back in June for about Four days of tests. It is going to be a long process, but I finally feel like I am at the right place, with the best doctors. I have not felt hopeful in a long time, this visit changed that for me.
The doctor who consulted with me was like no doctor I've ever spoken with before. He really inspired a lot of confidence in me and was very kind. He actually listened to what I had to say and showed legit concern. This is not something I want to be going through, but I am glad I am finally being treated by a great team of doctors at an amazing facility.
Now for a miss Muffin update: my poor kitty has a cold! But worry not, she has been to the Vet. She was given a shot of slow-release antibiotics. She is acting fine and active, eating etc, but I didn't want to bug her over the weekend as I could tell she felt "off". How 'bout that gradient!!?
This look started with a base of Sation's Love is in the Heir, which is a light, Greyed out Blue crelly. Using this shade as my base color mae all the difference when it came to building up my gradient. The light Blue tone really brought out the colors I was using to gradient over my light Blue shade. For the gradient I used colors from Sation's Candylandia collection. I went with Plenty of Frogs, Cast a Spill on You and Super Nail-tural Powers. I.LOVE.THIS.GRADIENT!!! I loved it SO much I didn't even do my signature coat of INM Northern lights!! WHAT?!! LTHP didn't put Northern Lights on a gradient?!!!!!! I know, I know haha... But just look at that shimmer from Cast a Spill on You(Blue) and Plenty of Frogs!
This was probably the easiest gradient I've ever done and I chuck that up to combination the base color and the formula of the shades I used to gradient. The shimmers really made the seams blend effortlessly and created such beautiful airbrushed-looking surfaces. Choosing the correct base color for gradients really does make a difference and I am just now learning this myself. I should film a tutorial on how I do my gradients, huh? I know everyone has their own way of doing them, and you guys have been asking for a while... I've just been a horrid Youtuber :(.

Here is a shot of my base color Love is in the Heir. This shade comes from Sation's Marie Antoinette inspired collection. This shade is a soft, muted Blue with some slight Grey undertones and a subtle twinkling Silver sparkle. Finish-wise it is between a creme and a jelly, more jelly than creme. The formula was smooth, even and easy to work with. I used Three thin coats since I wanted to show you guys a swatch of this shade as well. Girls with longer nails, or those of you who are not a fan of "visible nail line (VNL)" might need a few more coats for full coverage. I really enjoy soft, dreamy shades like this one. Do you?
I am SO sorry about the hiatus over the past week. I'm hoping to break that cycle of absences for a while. I have SO much nail polish to go through. I also got some new stamping plates, the Pueen sets! I had not gotten new stamping plates in like a year or so! I am SO excited about these Pueen plates though, they are ADORABLE!

And just a quick reminder that Google reader will be going away on July 1st! I've set up shop over at Bloglovin. I just LOVE how easy it is to use and they also have an iPhone/Droid app! Make sure you are following LTHP on Bloglovin so you don't miss out!! Also, [HERE] is a full list on ways to keep up with the Let them have Polish! nonsese!
Follow on Bloglovin

I've really missed you guys so very much! I hope you guys liked this gradient! I kinda wanted to eat my nails when I wore it :)!

Blue Moons for Autism Awareness with China Glaze

(**Press Samples**)
Good Morning!!

Today I am continuing my Blue manis for Autism Awareness month. I hope to finish out this week in Blues. The plan is to feature as much Blue as possible during the month of April. Though, I did see a post on the LVX nail color FB page that April is also Anti- Animal Cruelty Awareness month, I think the color for them is Yellow(Correction:It is Orange). So lots of Blue and Yellow Orange on LTHP during April. For today's look I went with a simple half-moon manicure, all in China Glaze.
This look started with Two coats of China Glaze Sunday Fundy. This is a lovely shade of Robin's Egg Blue creme. Once my base was dry I added some polka dots using Cheeky stamping plate CH6 and China Glaze Lil Drummer Boy. I top coated my nails with some SV and waited for them to be really dry.
For the half-moons I used China Glaze Strap on your Moonboots. This is a beautiful, steely Blue holographic shade. I then went back and cleaned up the seams of my moons with a fine stripe of Blue glitter. For this I used a Stripe Rite nail art striping polish. I did not top coat over the Holographic portions as I did not know if adding a top coat would diminish the pretty holographic finish.

In the photo below I used the flash so the holo would show better. It was so cloudy and Grey outside yesterday :(. Strap on your Moonboots is not an in-your-face-holo, but it is still very linear in finish. It also has a really great, saturated formula. This holo might be great for stamping as well.
I want to thank all those of you who have been sharing your Autism Awareness manis with me! It's great to see so many different online communitites coming together for such a great cause.

Thanks for stopping by darlings!

In Bettina Blues for World Autism Awareness Day

(**Press Sample**)
Good morning and happy Tuesday,

Today is World Autism Awareness Day, therefore my nails shall be Blue. For this simple look I went with all Bettina shades. I had not played with my Bettina pretties in a while.
This look started with Two coats of Bettina Vanity. For the puzzle piece stamp I used Bundle Monster plate BM219 and Bettina Over dyed. To finish it all off I added a coat of INM Northern Lights top coat and some Blue stones near the cuticles.

Here is a swatch of Bettina Vanity. This shade is pretty much a dupe of Zoya Blu. I did find the formula on the Bettina much easier to work with. I used Two easy coats. I can't get enough of these White-Based "bridal-y" Blues.
Thank you all for stopping by and thanks to all of you who are wearing your Blues today!!

"Truffin" Tuesday!! Barielle Green Apple and O.P.I My Paprika is Hotter than Yours!

Hello and happy Tuesday!

SO sorry this post is running late. I got distracted yesterday while working on my hair. I got into one of my cray cray funks and decided I wanted to re-do my hair colors. I've been taking Folic Acid supplements (per my doctor) and my hair, and nails have been growing SO fast!! But, anywho... My roots were KILLING me, so I got wrapped up in that project and completely forgot to post this awesome mani I did with Truffle's pick(s).
Muffin is still refusing to pick lol. She will just sit there looking pretty like "What, what do you want human?". This week though, Truffle decided to join in the fun and picked me some shades to play with.
I don't know what it is about this look but I LOVE how it turned out. The color combination is weird and yet it works so well. Truffle picked for me Barielle's Green Apple and O.P.I My Paprika is Hotter than Yours. These are both phenomenal, vibrant shades!! They both have amazing formulas, incredibly saturated and creamy! I used Two coats of each shade. For the triangle Purple accents I used Zoya Pinta. I finished the look off by adding some contrasting "glequins" and topping the whole look off with Twee & Honey's This is Matteness- matte top coat.

And here are the kitties doing their thing.

And because I loved these shades together before I even added accents. Here are my base colors. I am smitten with O.P.I MPIHTY!! That said, my camera was not a fan lol. It is an AMAZING Summer/ Spring shade and if you even remotely like Oranges, you will want this baby. Green Apple by Barielle is a really fun and unique shade and you can't beat that Barielle formula!
I'm loving all these fun and quirky shades for Spring and Summer. I think those are my favorite seasons for nail polish. I had so much fun working with these colors and I can see why Truffle has trouble deciding ;).

Time to go finish working on my hair!! I will have pics for you guys as soon as it is done ♥.

Muffin Mon... Er... Tuesday? O.P.I Euro-Marble

Hello lovely people!!

So... I'm late with this post :(. Yesterday was not a good day for me. I woke up pretty sick and whatnot so... Needless to say the polishing was not happening. Today I woke up feeling better, but still quite out of it. I'm sorry this post is so late and short. I've really been struggling with my health and energy lately. I would love some consistency right now :-s.
This look started with a clean White creme base. I did a Blue themed watermarble with some of the new O.P.I Euro-Centrale shades. I used You're such a Budapest, I saw...U saw.. We saw... Warsaw and Can't find my Czechbook. I always foget how much of a pain it it to clean up Blue polish after marbles. Well, for me at least. Once I was done with the cleanup, I was not entirely happy with my marble. So I topped it with my secret weapon, INM Northern Lights. When that didn't save it with for me I did a Konad stamp from plate M63 in Konad Black special polish. I then went back and topped the whole thing off with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu to give it an "underwater" look. I actually really adore the finished look. I'm glad I stamped and sammiched the whole look.

Muffin is being a princess lately.... And hey!! It's a Truffle photo-bomb!

Here is the marble before I stamped over it. IDK what it is but I was not really happy with it... :(
That is all for me today. I hope you guys like this mani. I'm so sorry I was late and short. As soon as I am feeling better I will be back up to full speed. In the mean time, if I disappear for a little bit, don't worry! It just means I need a little break and will be back shortly!

Etsy Mania! Aphrodite Lacquers Birthday Polishes Look

Good afternoon and happy Friday!!

Today I have a fun look featuring some Aphrodite Lacquer shades. These polishes are from the B-Day Collection. I really loved this small group of polishes. Right now there is only one of the shades available on the shop. I hope she will be restocking the B-Day polishes because they are SOOO cute and fun.
This look features It's my Party, which is a vivid Neon Pink shimmering creme-jelly. I LOVED this shade. It is SO vibrant, but squishy and shimmery. The shade of Pink is the perfect, neon Barbie Pink. Application was great on this shade. I used Three thin coats. The awesome Purple shade is Wrapping, Ribbons, Bows. This shade is a grape Purple jelly packed full of micro electric Purple glitter. The formula on this shade is a little sheer and need build up. It is also best to wait between coats. I used Three thin coats for my base. Both of these shades dry a bit dull and gritty so a good top coat is a must. I really loved wearing these shades. Isn't it funny how sometimes less really is more?

And here is a swatch of the loveliness that is Make a Wish from the Aphrodite Lacquers B-day Collection. This shade is a lightly shimmering White crelly base packed full of Small Silver hexes. This shade is simply beautiful. The formula was a dream to work with and I only needed Three thin coats. Aphrodite Lacquers are seriously some of my all time favorite Handmade polishes. I love her signature "sammich in a bottle".
What do you think of these pretties? Aren't they fun? I can't wait to see new goodies from Aphrodite Lacquers. In this mad, polished world of ours there are a LOT of talented ladies making beautiful polishes. It is SO hard to narrow down my favorite indie polish makers. I can safely say that Aphrodite Lacquers are definitely at the top of that list.

Do you have an indie maker(s) that always blows you away? I have quite a few myself :D.

Muffin Monday!! Sation Of Corset I'll Call You and Guillotine Grape

Gah it's so late!!

Sorry!! Muffin.. Muffin refused to pick me a polish this week lol. So I ended up going with two of the shades she rejected haha. I'm going to keep it short and sweet. It's pretty late and I'm pretty tired. That said, I LOVE this look!
My base shades are Sation's Of Corset I'll Call You and Guillotine Grape. For my gradients I used the same Two shades. Doing gradients with Of Corset I'll Call You was fantastic because it is a soft, squishy Pink. I've found that using jelly-like polishes on gradients makes them such a breeze! I topped my gradients with INM Northern Lights.  The stamps were done using China Glaze Passion. The stamp on on my ring finger is from Bundle Monster plate BM202 and the lace-y patterns are from BM323. I finished the whole look off with one final coat of SV.

And here is a fun collage of Muffin's indecision haha!

Have a good night my darlings!! I will be back sometime tomorrow!!

Spring Rolls Jelly Sammiches!

Hello my beauties and happy Friday!!

Today I have a quick post for you guys featuring some yummy glitter-jelly sammiches. While I was swatching my China Glaze Bitz 'n' Pieces Collection I figured it would be fun to see them sandwiched as well.
I won't be going into huge detail about each look since these are simple jelly sammiches. This is still one of my favorite methods to spice up a plain manicure. I will break down the polishes used from base color to top color to keep things easy haha!

China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, Bling it On- Sammiched with O.P.I Care to Danse?

China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around, Mosaic Madness- Sammiched with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu

China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On, Graffiti Glitter- Sammiched with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu

China Glaze Fade into Hue, Glitz 'n'n PIeces- Sammiched with O.P.I My Pointe Exactly
If you are a lover of the jelly sandwich look you will definitely love the Bitz 'n ' Pieces Collection by China Glaze! Also, I really want O.P.I (or anyone) to release more jellies a'la O.P.I NYC Ballet Collection. Those were, and still are, some of my favorite polishes ever.

For some strange reason I am SO very reado for the weekend to start!! Maybe I should rock a jelly sammich to get it started right!!

Lovely Looks with the Zoya Lovely Spring 2013 Collection

Happy Humpday!!

Today I have some looks featuring the shades in Zoya's new Spring Collection. The Lovely Collection is made up of Three gorgeous cremes, and Three beautiful shimmering pastels. The second I saw these shades I knew I would be doing some looks with them. I couldn't bring myself to just swatch them, I had to play with them :D. Zoya's Lovely is definitely Lovely!!

For my first look I went with a cute half-moon look. I might be a *tad* obsessed with half-moon manis. This simple, but eye-catching, look started with a base of Zoya Blu. Blu is the most perfect shade of light, light Blue creme. I wanted to do something with interesting contrast and a bit of an edge so for my accent color I went with Zoya Piaf. Piaf is one of those shades that are so ugly they are pretty. Piaf is a neat, light Mustard- Chartreuse Yellow with complimenting shimmer. I was pretty sure Piaf would not look good on my skintone but combining it with Blu really made it work for me. I love this combination.

How could I NOT do a cloud mani with these babies?! For this look I started with a base of Jacqueline. Jacqueline is a pretty, light shade of creamy Ivory. There is a very slight, barely there shimmer in Jacqueline. For my clouds I used Zoya Julie and Neely. The finished look is really subtle, but so perfect for Spring!

For my final look I wanted to do something striped and simple. I started with a base of Neely. Neely is a gorgeous, light Seafoam creme. For the color accents I used Zoya Julie and GeiGei. I used fine striping tape to create the color-blocked look. On my index and Pinkie I filled in the taped gaps with fine brushes. I really like the end result. These remind me of the girly notebooks I used to carry in High School.

Here are quick swatches of my base shades. From left to right: Neely, Blu and Jacqueline. These were all two coats and I ran into no issues with the formulas.
I have a few more looks planned for these pretties. Zoya's Spring Collections are always just gorgeous and inspiring to me. As always, the formulas are a joy to work with. These shades all compliment each other and it makes wearing just one at a time impossible for me!

Did you pick up any of Zoya's new Spring shades?

Muffin Monday!! Julie G Dream in Pretty

Hello my lovelies and happy Muffin Monday!!

Sorry about today's post being so late. Muffin mad her pick yesterday. Muffin picked like a boss this week. I set up and Mr. LTHP lured her to the room and she made her pick on the first try. She went for an adorable color from the Julie G line by Jesse's Girl called Dream in Pretty

For some reason I was feeling tropical so this is the look I came up with for Muffin's pretty pick.
I started with a base of Two easy coats of Dream in Pretty. On my Middle and Ring fingernails I did some Sunset inspired gradients with Julie's Fave and Dream in Pretty. I topped my gradients off with Seche Vite followed by a thin, sparkly coat of INM Northern Lights. For the all the stamps I used a plate I got in a swap with a Dutch friend and Konad Black Special Polish. I do not know the brand of the plate but it was number SdP-71. I then went back and free-handed the Black ground under my Palm trees with Cult Nails Nevermore. I ended up really loving this look... And kinda wishing I was on a beach with a Corona in my hand...

Here is a look at Muffin's pick, and my base color, Dream in Pretty. This is one of those pretty Lilac- Pink creme shades that I cannot get enough of. The formula on this shade was SO amazing. It has just the right amount of pigmentation and it is very self-leveling. I used Two coats for full opacity.
The Julie G line by Jesse's Girl recently had an expansion of 27 colors and I kinda wish I had access to them.. Silly Florida not having Rite Aids :(... BUT, I keep hearing that the more we request on Ulta's FB that they carry Jesse's Girl the sooner they might do so!! So lets all go over to the Ulta FB page and ask for Jesse's Girl cosmetics at their stores!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Indie Mania!! Sindie POP! Lacquer- Holiday 2012 Collection

Hello and happy Friday!!

Today I have swatches of some beautiful polishes by indie brand Sindie Pop! When Jessica contacted me about reviewing some of her babies I jumped at the chance. I had been seeing so many of her creations and lusting after them pretty hard. There is something very playful and fun about Sindie Pop lacquers, and I just love them!
To see closeup photos of these pretties just continue reading ♥.

A quick note: All of these swatches are shown with a top coat of Seche Vite to bring out shine and smooth out the surface. Since most of these are chunky glitters in shimmery bases they need a good top coat to smooth them out.

Sindie POP! Mr. Duck
Mr.Duck is a beautiful, almost metallic, shimmering Blue base packed full of Small Gold and White hexes accented by larger Red hexes. I had never seen a glitter quite like this one. With indies we see a lot of creamy-based glitters, this was an unexpected change from that trend. I used Three thin coats of Mr. Duck for my swatch.

Sindie POP! White Gold
White Gold is a soft, Champagne Gold, shimmering base packed full of small Gold glitter and White hexes in varying sizes. I used Three thin coats for my swatch. This polish makes me thing of angelic things. There is something delicate and ethereal about this beauty, and that is SO my thing.

Sindie POP! A Black & White Christmas
This was one of my faves! A B & W Christmas is a shimmering Silver base packed full of Gunmetal, Silver and Black glitter. I used Three thin coats for my swatch. Isn't this such a unique shade? I really love Sindie POP's use of shimmering bases and chunky glitters.

Sindie POP! Holo at Me!
Holo at Me is a saturated Black jelly base packed full of holographic dust. Sadly the Sun had already set by the time I made it around to this beauty so I couldn't get a good representation of the holographic shimmer. The formula on this pretty is great and does well in Two coats.

Sindie POP! Electric Purple
Electric Purple is a beautiful, light Purple shimmering base packed of Holo shimmer and Purple glitter. There is also the most beautiful Blue flash peaking from the Purple base. Electric Purple dries to a neat matte finish that is right on trend with the new Textures in polish. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

Sindie POP! Sky Sparkle
If I was going to get just ONE polish from Sindie POP it would be Sky Sparkle. This beauty is a light, light Blue shimmering creamy base. This polish is packed with Blue, Magenta and Silver glitters in varying sizes. I used Three thin, easy coats. I actually got to wear Sky Sparkle and I had it on my nails until it chipped off (which never happens anymore lol). One of my friends said my nails reminded him of Pop Tart icing :D.

Sindie POP Champagne Glitz over Bettina Camilla
Champagne Glitz is a clear-based glitter bomb. The blend here is of Purple, Magenta and Gold hexes in varying sizes. For this swatch I layered over a light Purple to show the textures and range of colors. I only did one coat of glitter over my base. Champagne Glitz has a great glitter spread.

And there you have the Holiday Collection by Sindie POP! I kinda feel like a tool for posting these so late :(:(. That said, aren't they awesome!!? I love the shimmer based glitter bombs. Do you have any Sindie POP shades? Which are your faves?
