31 Day Challenge 2012! Day 22: Inspired by a Song

Happy Caturday!

Today is day 22 of the 31 Day Challenge and Sam, Rie and I have to be inspired by a song. I had some serious mental block when trying to decide on a song... So I didn't :D! I started up my Pandora on my favorite station, Sleigh Bells, and decided that what ever song came on first would be the one I would use as my inspiration.
The song that came on was "Riot Rhythm" by Sleigh Bells. To this day I still have no idea what that song is about. So I watched the video, which made as much sense as the song lol... But it did have a lot of cool imagery...
Every nail is inspired by an aspect of the video. These nails make as much sense as the video does lolol. It's an awesome song though. I love Sleigh Bells!

I'm going to break this mani down by nail to make it easier.
-Pinky nail: base color; Cult Nails Enticing. Gradient done with China Glaze 2012 Neons in Splish Splash, Love's a Beach and Sunkissed. The stamp is from one of the Cheeky plate sets, CH02, and I used Konad Black Special Polish.

- Ring nail" Cult Nails Nevermore accented with opalescent rhinestones.

-Middle Nail: base color; Cult Nails Nevermore. Taped off accents in CG Def Defying, Bettina Premium Wash and Milani in Yellow Whiz and Rapid Cherry. Topped off with Seche Vite and INM Northern Lights.

-Index nail: base color: CG Tree Hugger and stamped with Cheeky plate CH03 in Konad Black. The splatter accents were done with Zoya in Robyn and Lara

Here is the video that inspired the nails!
Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Song Inspired looks for day 22!

LTHP is Back! Daddy Kool Records #MunnyShow 2012 Inspired Nails!

Hi guys!

I am back! Yes!! I wanna thank all of the AMAZING bloggers that stepped in for me for the past Two weeks. You ladies blew my mind in several different directions, and I know my readers were in amazing company. I'm just in awe of the talent in this community. Also, on that note... While I was gone LTHP reached 5,000 followers!! WOW! I need to plan something special to celebrate this milestone!
Today's manicure are the nails that I wore to this years Munny Show at Daddy Kool Records in Downtown St. Pete, Florida (post about this later on today!). My nails were inspired by the sticker that the Record shop, along with many other shops on the DT strip were displaying on their windows to promote the local "art show".
For this fun look I started with a base of Zoya Purity. For the striped nails I used my striping tape from Born Pretty Store and Milani Black Swift. On my middle finger I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM19 and Zoya Robyn. The splatter finger was done with JulieG Oh Em Gee, Zoya Robyn and Milani Black Swift. On my thumbs I did a drip effect using Black Swift and Oh Em Gee.

Here is a crappy thumb shot... Still getting a hang of the drip technique. I topped off all my nails in some Seche Vite, followed by INM Northern Lights TC then followed by one last coat of Cult Nails Wicked fast.

Here is a shot of the poster that inspired the nails and the nails :D. I am actually so happy with how these turned out. Even at the point when I had all my nails coated in a clean white canvas I really didn't know what I was going to do with each nail and it all just came together out of the Blue. The color palette is just right on for awesome nail art!
I missed you guys so much!!! I had a nice little break, recovering nicely (still working on that). I feel better every day and I am SO happy to be back!!

I hope you guys enjoyed this nail art!!! Who knows... I may just be back later with a Muffin Monday but I will def have a post up soon about the show!

Zoya Week! Zoya Fall Splatter

Happy Friday!

Zoya week is almost over but I'm still going strong! For today's look I have this awesome splatter I did using colors from Zoya's Gloss and Designer Collections. I think this is one of my favorite splatters I have ever done. The effect is very different thanks to the amazing Frida. Could that polish be anymore amazing and versatile?!
For this look I started with a base of one coat of Zoya Purity. The splatters were done in a particular orders because I wanted to achieve a cool multi-dimensional look. The first color I splattered with was Zoya Evvie then I went back and splattered once again with some Purity. The next color I splattered with was Rekha followed by Carey then followed by Frida. I topped it all off with some Seche Vite. I love how Frida creates this cool stained glass effect.
I'm all about nails that remind me of modern art and these are right up my alley. It had been a while since I splattered and I had forgotten how cool this technique looks. For my splatters I used little coffee stirrer straws.

Are you guys ready for the weekend? I sure am!

China Glaze Summer Neons Splatered Skittles!

Good morning and happy humpday!

BEHOLD! Super nubs! :(:(

Today I have an awesome and very colorful mani I did using 10 of the new China Glaze Summer Neons for 2012. I will have swatches of this collection soon. I could not resist playing around with them first. This collection is full of win and I cannot wait to show you guys!
For this mani I started with a skittles base. I think it is easier to say which colors from the Summer Neons I didn't use. I skipped on using Pink Plumeria and Flirty Tankini. Used all of the other colors in the Summer Neons in one way or another. I skipped on the more muted shades because I wanted this to be super bright and just a little obnoxious..... Mission accomplished. I added some splatters of White and Black to give some contrast to the splatters. Needless to say I love this look and of course topped the whole thing off with INM Northern Lights.
I have to say.. I am beyond blown away by the formula on these neons. Seriously AMAZING! I cannot wait to show you guys swatches of these beautful Summer colors.

Thanks for stopping by!

Black & White Challenge! Day Three- Color on Black

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

That is all... I'm stoked on today's nails and I can barely form coherent thoughts because I love this so much. Today's task is a Black base with color on top and that is exactly what I did! I'm a little speechless about these...
For this epic look I started with Two easy coats of Bettina Onyx. Then.... Then I went to town splattering in Bettina colors. I used some of their amazing Disco Collection glassflecks and ended up with amazing results. For the splatter I used Boogie, Peace and Hot Pants. I cannot get this look out of my head because I had never seen a splatter create an effect such as this before. This was NOT fun to clean up because the super fine shimmer from the Disco Colors wanted to get everywhere. I don't even care though.. The clean-up was so worth it in the end!
Please tell me you love this as much as I do lool!!!

Now... Don't forget to stop by  Sam The Nailasaurus, Rie Nails and Noms, Esther at Fab Fingertips, Stephanie at Sincerely Stephanie and Emily from The Laquerologist to see what they have in store for us today!

Pink Wednesday!! Edgy Holographic Splatter

Hi hello and happy Pink Wednesday!

I have some wonderful news before we get started with my usual nonsense.... I have a JOB!! A nice office job in real estate at a really nice community. I am so excited about this opportunity and I can't wait to see where it takes me. I am also happy that I will be able to keep my nails looking pretty lol... I know that sounds uber shallow or maybe dumb.. But I am, after all, a nail polish blogger and my nails should be always looking nice right?

For today's post I wanted to play with some of my holographic beauties from Llarowe... I've done lots of creamy splatter manis but I had been wanting to do a holographic one because I though the effect of the sparkle would look so cool. I went for it and I am so happy with the awesome and flashy results!
This is a really simple look. I started with a base of Two coats of Glitter Gal's Frappe. For the splatter I used HITS Atena and Glitter Gal Lizard Belly. I love LOVE love how this looks. Because of the holographic sparkle it almost looks like a watercolor mani. Have you guys seen those yet? They are soo cool and I am dying to try one. I think I will soon. This is quite and edgy and fun look... Holo Splatter! A big win in my book!
MMMMmmmmmm!!!

What do you guys think?

Essence Planet Earth Splatter Mani

Hi hello and happy Caturday!!

Today I have a totally awesome splatter mani. I haven't really been shy about my love of Essence Color and Go polishes. I really wish that the ENTIRE Essence line was available in the states. They release some really incredible stuff in Europe... I own some of that awesomeness thanks to the lovely Deborah but I just cannot get enough of these little polishes.... So, it had been a while since I busted out my Color & Go's and I was really wanting to play with some of these because I just love these little suckers. I have a really cool mix of colors and I always want to mix them in really contrasting ways... As such :D!
So for this mani I started with alternating bases of Lime Up! and Underwater. Then I splattered with the alternating colors using a little coffee stirrer straw thingie. I love those because I can really aim at the nail and it makes it a little less messy and a lot faster for me. How cute is this combination?! It looks like pictures of Planet Earth from Space or something. I am just over the moon with this mani! To top it all off I added a coat of INM Northern Lights.
And there you have it! I love these polishes!! They are .99 cents and they are just AMAZING. They have outstanding formulas and great brushes. I love theseee!!! Go get some!! lool!!

Happy Caturday!!
