Lac Attack Magical Musings Collection Swatches- Part Two

(**Lac Attack products provided for review consideration.**)
Good morning and happy Thursday!

Today I have some more swathes of colors from the Magical Musings collection by Lac Attack. You can see Part One [Here]. Sorry, I am not feeling very chatty today:(. That said, these colors are beautiful!! I can't get enough of this collection or the inspirations behind it!
To see swatches and find out more just continue reading!

Lac Attack Durmstrang

This shade is a beautiful, sheer-ish Blue metallic-shimmer. Durmstrang also has the most beautiful, subtle hints of Gold shimmer that give the icy Blue base amazing dimension. There are also fun Black shards, that are fairly easy to work with. This shade is a bit sheer, but I managed to get away with Three easy coats for full opacity. This shade can also be layered.

Lack Attack Amortentia
Amortentia is a rose Pink shimmering base with strong Violet duochrome. Packed in the base are lovely Lavender hex glitters as well as tons of small prismatic sparkle. This shade is also slightly sheer, but buildable. I used Three coats of Amortentia for my swatch. This shade can also be layered.

Lac Attack Dementor's Kiss over Aphrodite Lacquers Make a Wish
Dementor's Kiss is an awesome blend of small Black and Red hexes densely packed into a clear base. This polish is best layered. This combination in particular is quite AWESOME, if I do say so myself ;).

Lack Attack Beauxbatons Academy over Cirque Cape Liz
Beauxbatons Academy is a light, milky Blue base accented with Blue, White and Gold particles. I LOVE the delicate blend of smaller shapes here. The little White squares are too adorable. IDK why I'm rambling about white squares... I just like 'em haha. This one I decided to layer over a color that was similar to the milky base. I only needed  one coat of Beauxbatons Academy over Cape Liz to achieve this look.

I'm still LOVING this collection. I think Lac Attack did a wondeful job on these colors (with halp from the lovely Glitta Gloves). These are still available(sold out right now but being restocked still) from several etailers and my understanding is that Lac Attack plans to keep these around for a good while.

XOXO

Cult Nails Tempest, Fetish & Blaze -Nail Art Look

Happy Friday!!!

Today I have a really cool look featuring Cult Nails' Second Year Anniversary Collection. A few days ago I showed you guys Fetish all on it's own, but I thought it would be cool to do a look that featured different finishes. It seemed only fitting that I found a way to combine all Three shades in the collection into a cool look!
This look started with Two effortless coats of Tempest. I topped my base off with some Seche Vite and waited for it to dry. Then using some wavy scrapbook scissors I cut some strips of scotch tape to create the wavy side panels using Fetish. To clean up the seam between Fetish and Tempest I used a short striping brush dipped in Blaze. Then I went back with a really small dotting tool and added some Fetish dots along the wavy line. I did not top coat the finalized look to keep the cool contrast between wax and shiny finishes. Plain and simple, I ADORE this look!! And best of all, it was SO easy and fast to do!!

Here is a swatch of Tempest. The most flawless, creamiest shade of White I own. Two easy coats and an amazing self-leveling formula make this polish an absolute must have in my book!
I said it before and I will say it again... I NEED more polishes in that wax finish!! There is something about it that I am absolutely LOVING!! I am also loving Blaze. When I first saw it I thought I would be indifferent towards it and then I actually wore it and I could not stop staring at my nails! It is a beautiful, blingy, yet classy glitter! My thoughts on Tempest? FINALLY, the perfect white creme haha!!! And Fetish? ... Yeah... you need it!

I'm so ready for the weekend, I'm sure you guys are too :D!

Nails by Cris! Featuring Jen's Jem-Picasso's!

Hi loves!!

So my friend Jen is now a total polish fiend thank to yours truly *curtsies* lol. Last time I did a massive purge Jen got most of the polishes and she and her awesome little girl have been having some fun with colors! I love creating polish fiends, and future ones too! So anyways, Jen came over some time last week and got a kick ass layered mani done by moi. There was SO much going on and yet it all worked perfectly! We though they were a littlle Jem and a little Picasso so Jen named her her Jem-Picassos :D!
She also wanted to rock some awesome rings for her photos so I went into my LTHP polish ring stash and she chose a ring I made out of China Glaze Luxe and Lush and Midtown Magic (oval) and a ring I made using several Bettina Disco Collection Colors (round). LOVE how the rings complete this look!
Ok, so we started with a base of Lime Crime in Milky Ways on all nails except the thumb and Ring Finger, which got a base of Sation Shock me Twice Pink. On the white nails we also did a thin layer of Julie G My Private Palace to give the nails some extra bling. On the Pink nails we did a topper of Lush Lacquer in Salt n Peppa. On the White nails we topped it off with Sparkles by Julie in Graffiti. Graffiti is an amazing blend of Black hexes and bars with shards in Blue, Red and Yellow. It is such a bold, fun and eye-catching polish. Surprisingly easy to work with. These looked SO freaking awesome!!! And I am so glad I have finally convinced Jen that nubs are better than acrylics any day!! Shorties all the way!!!

Here is a shot of all polishes used.

And here is a neato macro of Jen's and mine favorite nail :D!
I love working on Jen's nails because this girl is just so much fun to hang out with and she always lets me do what I want with her nails :D!

Aren't these like a party on your nails!!

Etsy Mania! Rockstar Nails Punk Rock Barbie and an Update

Good Afternoon and happy Monday,

I wanted to take a second to apologize for my unexplained leave of absence, to those of you who may have noticed, I've not posted since Wednesday of last week. This is unusual for me as I like to/pride myself in having a post up everyday.
Ok, so I think I mentioned this but, not this past Saturday, the one before that I was in the hospital. Well yesterday... I got to spend the day there again. So in the span of 8 days I was in the hospital Twice. I was just starting to feel better from my last fiasco and just like that I was back in the hospital. I really don't want to get into details as to what causes these visits. All I will say is that I would not wish this upon ANYONE, no even my worst enemies. I felt like you guys should know why I disappear randomly. I know you guys will understand and as usual be totally awesome about everything, because after all, my health really does come first. And the sooner I am healthy, the sooner I can get back into my rhythm, not just in blogging, but life in general.
So now that you guys are all caught up, how about a quick swatch of one of my new favorite layering combinations?
So this is Rockstar Nails Punk Rock Barbie over Color Club's Into the Limelight. PRB is a great mix of Black and White hexes, bars and squares accented by larger Pink squares suspended in a clear base. LOOOOOVEE this so hard! One of the best things about this polish is how easy it was to work with. I did Two "coats" there was some dabbing used to place some of the pieces. The base color is probably one of my new favorites shades ever. I will go on about the Color Club shade when I review the Color Club Fall 2012 Collection.
I will also go onto say that this was actually the mani that I was rocking the last Saturday I spent in the hospital and one of the nurses LOVED it. She actually thought they were decals :D. I just LOVE how all the colors pop against my vivid Periwinkle Blue base. They really did look almost fake.

I'm off to get some more rest now. I want you guys to know that I truly do miss blogging when I am not around. I almost get separation anxiety from my blog (creepy, right?). Point being that every time I have to take an unplanned, unannounced break, I feel terrible! But, I know, I know, health comes first.

Miss you guys so much!!!

Etsy Mania!! All That Glitters Spottie Dottie Light and Dark

Happy Sunday lovely readers!

Are ya'll sick of my Etsy posts yet? I sure as shiz hope not because I have so much indie coming your way still loool! What can I say? I went on a huge Etsy binge a couple of weeks back and I am still working through all the stuff I purchased. On top of that I also have the never- ending stream of samples that I have to swatch and such.
So basically, over the past few weeks I've had a huge surge of indies come in from my purchases that I am STILL trying to get to because I can't bring myself to "just swatch" my indies. I actually want to wear them and enjoy them. So.. enough ranting now.... Onto the shop of the day: All that Glitters. This girl is talented and I mean TALENTED! I own Four of her creations and I love them all to BITS! If you have not been to her shop you should seriously head on over and take a peek!

All that Glitter Spottie Dottie- Dark
Black.Glitter! Spottie Dottie Dark is pretty self explanatory. It is different sized Black hexes and bars suspended in a clear base. The Spottie Dottie series are not SUPER packed with glitter so you do have to do a little bit of fishing and careful application to get a cool effect. This does not bother me one bit because it gives the polish versatility. For this look I layered Spottie Dottie Dark over Color Club Daisy Does It.

All that Glitters Spottie Dottie- Light
Spottie Dottie Light is the same concept as SD Dark except with White glitters. My version of this polish is a little special due to those awesome big Square glitters. In its regular form SD Light is the same as SD Dark, different sized Hexes and bars. Shop owner Kirsten had actually made an announcement about how this batch would be a little different because her supplier had sent her Large White Squares instead of Hexes and I got a little excited at the prospect of having a "special" Square-y Dottie Light hahahaha! Here it is layered over Color Club Wing Fling.
How cute are these polishes? I also love that I can layer over each other to make up my own mix of Black and White glitter. Head on over to All that Glitters on Etsy to see more of K's goodies!

Happy Sunday!

Black and White Challenge! Day Six- White on Color

Hi loves!!

I know, I know.. I'm late with this post.. A WHOLE day late :(. So sorry about that. I had the pics ready to go but completely forgot to do the post the night before and then I woke up yesterday feeling awful and ended up in the hospital for the Second time this year. Needless to say.. I was not about to sit down and blog yesterday... As if by some miracle I am actually at work today but I don't feel very functional so please pardon the "shortness" of this post. The task for yersterday was White on Color.
For this funky look I started wit Two effortless coats of the lovely and totally amazing, Tallulah by Zoya. Still featuring Blues throughout April for Autism Awareness month. Tallulah is what I would consider to be my all time favorite shade of Blue. For the White accents I used a dotting tool. For this you have to make sure your base color is 100% dry because it requires dragging the dotting tool in quick short movements across your nail. Topped it all off with some Northern Lights.
I'm not really sure what I was going for with this look but I kinda like it... Don't forget to stop by  Sam The Nailasaurus, Rie Nails and Noms, Esther at Fab Fingertips, Stephanie at Sincerely Stephanie and Emily from The Laquerologist to see what they have in store for us today!

Black and White Challenge! Day Five- Black on Color #FishEggFriday

Good morning!!

**EDIT** Today is Fish Egg Mani Friday :DD!!! hahah I found out from Sammy, my challenge buddy, that I guess sometime last nite it was deicded that today would be Fish Egg Mani Friday as a way to stick it to Ciate(LOOOOOOL). The fact that I did a kaviar mani today was actually nothing more than a coincidence but of course I wanted to be added to the list of lovelies participating in this most epic movement. I should have another edit later on with the list of Fish Egged nail Bloggers :).

Today I have for you guys Day Five of the Black and White Challenge. The task for today is to use Black over a color base. I decided to incorporate the color Blue into the rest of the Black and White Challenge where color is allowed. I'm trying to feature as much Blue as possible throughout April for Autism Awareness.
I started with Two coats of Zoya Robyn. Such an epic shade of Blue... Then I wanted to do a full caviar texture mani so I went to town with my Black micro beads from Michaels. This is totally unrelated, but just in case you guys did not know about this...  I'm sure by now ya'll have heard about the Ciate fiasco, them sending C&D letters to bloggers using the term "caviar nails" when they dont even own the trademark yet, apparently. I found this quite funny actually, how they choose to waste their money trying to trademark a concept they did not even spawn... And then bully people with letters about using a term they don't even own.... STooooooPID! See [THIS] post for more info.
So yeah.. Ciate can kiss my microballs.. What? Are they gonna get Michael's and every craft store in the land to stop selling these? Hahahah.... I wonder who the brilliant mind behind their marketing is... Don't they realize how dumb they look right now? I guess not, if they did they wouldn't be moving forward with that nonsense. Why not put that money towards actually developing a new and innovative trend? Or even better, just make your colors more interesting so you don't have to trademark other's concepts as your own....

Black & White Challenge! Day Four- Color on White

Good Morning!!

Today we are heading back to the Black and White Challenge for Day Four. The task today is color on a White base. I knew exactly what I was going to do for Day Four from the get-go. I'm not even gonna blab anymore and I'm just gonna show you some pics because I freaking love this so much!
So I was kind of inspired by fine china for these. I absolutely love how the stamps turned out. I started with a base of Three thin coats of Nicole by O.P.I Others pale by Kim-parison. For the stamped nails I used Konad Red SP and Red Angel plate RA-109. I accented the flowers with some Red rhinestones. I did a kaviar nail because I could not put off playing with my beads any longer (LOVE this). I was supposed to do a stamp on my index nail but ended up changing my mind last minute and doing a glitter gradient in O.P.I Getting Miss Piggy with It. I seriously love this look!!
I cannot wait to see what my partners came up with today! Don't forget to stop by  Sam The Nailasaurus, Rie Nails and Noms, Esther at Fab Fingertips, Stephanie at Sincerely Stephanie and Emily from The Laquerologist to see what they have in store for us today!

Dates to fit for April as follows:
1.       White base with black (Apr. 1st 2012)
2.       Black base with white (Apr. 4th 2012)
3.       Black base with color (Apr. 7th 2012)
4.       White base with color (Apr. 10th 2012)

Black & White Challenge! Day Three- Color on Black

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

That is all... I'm stoked on today's nails and I can barely form coherent thoughts because I love this so much. Today's task is a Black base with color on top and that is exactly what I did! I'm a little speechless about these...
For this epic look I started with Two easy coats of Bettina Onyx. Then.... Then I went to town splattering in Bettina colors. I used some of their amazing Disco Collection glassflecks and ended up with amazing results. For the splatter I used Boogie, Peace and Hot Pants. I cannot get this look out of my head because I had never seen a splatter create an effect such as this before. This was NOT fun to clean up because the super fine shimmer from the Disco Colors wanted to get everywhere. I don't even care though.. The clean-up was so worth it in the end!
Please tell me you love this as much as I do lool!!!

Black & White Challenge! Day Two- White on Black

Good morning lovelies and happy humpday!

Today the sexy6 are carrying on with Day Two of the Black and White Challenge. The task for today is Black base with White on top. I danced around this for a while because I am not always a fan of how White looks over Black. The effect of White on Black always seems a little Halloween to me for some reason. I finally decided on doing something I don't really do too often, half moons. The end result was a super classy and eye-catching manicure.
I started with Two coats of Zoya Raven as my Black base. For the White I used Zoya  Purity which covered the Black effortlessly in one good coat. To clean up the "seam" where the Black and White meet I added a little bit of Silver Glitter using a striper. LOVE this look. All topped off with some Seche Vite.

Black & White Challenge! Day One- Black on White

Hi loves!!

It's challenge time again here at LTHP! I'm not sure how, but somehow I got talked into doing this Black and White Challenge by my former 31 Day Challenge Partners Sam and Rie. I was super happy to do this because the last challenge we did together was so much fun. Having blogger friends for support during these nail art challenges is always so much fun. We get to push each other and it's fun to see every one's take on the different tasks presented by the challenge.

This time around we will be joined by Three awesome bloggers, Esther at Fab Fingertips, Stephanie at Sincerely Stephanie and Emily from The Laquerologist. This challenge was created by Mateja at Purple Glitters. I love working in Black and white so I was stoked to do this challenge!
I must admit I feel like I'm off to a slow start with this particular mani. Don't get me wrong I actually really like this 60's mod vibe I have going on and from a distance this looks AWESOME! But I'm sure everyone will be busting out some awesome nail art and I just have dots lol (I kinda forgot 'till last minute that this was happening looool)! I started with Two coats of Milani White on the Spot. I then started dotting with my largest dotting tool with Milani Black Swift. For the final step I went back and dotted the center of my Black dots with White on the Spot. All topped off with some Seche Vite and some Northern Lights for a little sparkle.

This is the list that we will be following.
We will be spreading this out through out the month of April. This is the schedule for this challenge:
1.       White base with black (Apr. 1st 2012)
2.       Black base with white (Apr. 4th 2012)
3.       Black base with color (Apr. 7th 2012)
4.       White base with color (Apr. 10th 2012)
5.       Color base with black (Apr. 13th 2012)
6.       Color base with white (Apr. 16th 2012)
7.       Black & white with glitters (Apr. 19th 2012)
8.       Sponging (Apr. 22th 2012)
9.       Water marble (Apr. 25th 2012)
10.     Manicure of your choice with black and white (Apr. 28th 2012)

I hope you guys are excited to see these posts! I'm really excited to be doing another challenge. I really have missed doing nail art as of late and this will be the perfect push!

31 Day Challenge! Day 25- Inspired by Fashion

Hi darlings!!

First thing is first: A BIG Happy Birthday to my bestest friend EVER!! Miss Lizy!! I love you and I can't wait to see you in a few weeks!!! ♥

Today's challenge task is a really fun one. The list called for nails inspired by fashion. I immediately knew what I wanted to use as my inspiration. I used to be really big into Project Runway and the last season I remember had one of my favorite contestants ever, besides Christian Siriano that is. I am speaking of Mondo Guerra. His work is unique and colorful. I also love his play with colors and patterns. The dress I chose was from what should have been his Project Runway winning collection.
I love the crap out of this dress! I would wear it any day lol!

For this look I started with Three coats of Maybelline Colorama in Cupid's Wing. Then I dotted in Zoya Raven in varying sizes in a random pattern. Once that was dry I used strips of tape I had cut with a wavy craft scissor and did the Black corners in the wavy pattern to simulate the side panels of the dress. I intentionally inverted the colors of the Polka dots to have a bit more contrast. I topped it all off with a two coats of Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love.

These are fun and funky and I think Mondo would be proud! <3 Don't forget to check out Sam and Rie's blogs to see their Fashion nails!

Thanks for stopping by :D

31 Day Challenge! Day 23- Inspired by a Movie

Hi loves!!!

Today's nails are supposed to be inspired by a movie. I had a million ideas for this and then I ran out of time. I got wrapped up in swatching a bunch of stuff and it got late in the day and I just wanted to be done loool! So what did I do? I went with my "safe choice": Black Swan. Now, don't get me wrong. I love the crap out of this movie, but there have been so many Black Swan manis out there... That said.. I hope you like my take on it.
For this mani I started with bases of Glitter Gal Light as a Feather and Zoya Raven. Then for my middle and Ring fingers I used Bundle Monster plate BM214 and Black and White Konad Special polishes. For my Index and Pinkie I used Konad plate M77. I topped off my Pinkie and Middle Finger with some INM Northern Lights because I have a fetish and at least One nail per mani has to have it hahaha!

I think it's pretty even though it's so simple. Don't forget to check out Sam and Rie's blogs to see their Movie nails!
