New Liquid Eye- Liquid Like Eyeliners and Shadow Primer by Milani!

(**Milani Products provided for review consideration.**)

Good morning!!

Hells yeah makeup! Anyways, you guys know I've been raving about Milani's new range of lip colors as well as Milani's new Grandissimo lashes mascara. Well, they also released some new liquid like- pencil eyeliners, a bold liquid line and a new eyeshadow primer. Much like everything else they have released, I was super excited to try these products.

I had never really tried Milani's eyeliners before. I have fairly sensitive eyes and I'm usually apprehensive of trying new products on them. That said, I was eager to give these a shot after reading rave reviews of Milani's previous eyeliner releases.

First up are the new Milani Liquid Eye- Liquid Like pencil eyeliners. I was really impressed with the quality of these pencils. I also LOOOVE the heavy shimmer they are packed with, keep that in mind when using these. They are not great for the waterline or tightline because they are so shimmery. These are also really soft and creamy. I accidentally snapped the tip off of the Purple pencil because I applied too much pressure when I was swatching it. That said, them being so soft makes them VERY blend-able and So easy to apply and work with.

Then we have some retractable Liquid Eye- Liquid Line pencils. I LOOVE retractable pencils because there is no wasted product. These are your standard Brown and Black creme shades. These also have a really smooth and creamy formula/ application. These do great in the waterline and have already become some of my new favorites. Good news about these liners(and the new mascara!!) they have not irritated my eyes. I've had a chance to wear them several times now and I've had no issues with tearing or itching. YAYAYAY!

And as if it was not enough to release awesome new liners, Milani also released a BOLD new liquid eye-liner. This pen reminds me of the fat Sharpies, but for your eyes. I was/am a HUGE fan of last year's Eye-tech Extreme liner and this extension to the Eye-tech liners is already in my epic win list. It has a nice sharp tip so it is actually pretty versatile in terms of the lines you can create with it. I had alot of fun playing with this pen and doing crazy cat-eyes and wings.

Another product to love! Milani released an eyeshadow primer this year. I had been pretty excited as not many drugstore brands have good primers, or a primer at all. And ladies, a good eye shadow primer makes ALL the difference in the longevity and vibrancy of your eye makeup. I really like the texture of this primer. It's creamy, but just the right amount of "sticky". I've been applying it with a small eyeshadow brush. It goes on nice and smoothly, I wait about 30 seconds before I begin to apply shadow. Finish wise- it is "matte" and nude, almost like BB creme for your eyelids. I've already used this primer several times and I can honestly say I really like it and it is a fantastic budget-friendly alternative to the higher end primers.

And now put them all together to get..... For this look I used all of the products above as well as some of last year's pressed powder eye shadows by Milani. I used Purple Shock, Shocking Pink, Olympian Blue on my lid with a highlight of White Lie. On my eyebrows I used the Milani felt tip liquid brow pen and on my lashes the Milani Grandissimo lashes mascara. Even thought this was a super quick look I did just to try the products out I actually really liked it and can't wait to re-create it soon!
Milani products are available at Walgreens, CVS, Kmart, select Wal-Marts as well as on Milani's website.

Lime Crime Ocean Sunrise #EOTD and Full #FOTD Shots

Hello Darlings!!

Today I have the look I wore on mah face to acompany the nails I showed you yesterday. It's not often the opportunity presents itself for me to have a LOT of fun with colorful make-up and this past Saturday was the perfect chance for me to play with some of my favorite Lime Crime eye shadows.
I will also go into detail about my foundation routine. I've had a few girls ask me and I realized that I've been terrible about going into my actual foundation steps and such. Bottom line: I absolutely had SO much fun playing with these colors and I am so happy with how this turned out!
My hair color is currently Sally's Ion Brights in Magenta (cruelty free and vegan!). I am SO impressed with this dye so far. The vibrancy and color are holding amazingly well!

Onto the make up! On my eyes I started with a primer base of NYX Primer Pot in Skintone. I'm calling this my Fruit Punch Sunrise Look :D.
All over lid: LC Magic Dust in Cupcake Thief blended with Coral of The Story from the LC Aquatenea palette. The crease was darkened a bit with LC Magic Dust in Siren. On my eyelid I have LC Magic Dust in Circus Girl. I officially LOVE playing with loose pigments, a bit intimidating at first, but so much fun! And I seriously LOVE the Aquatenea palette to bits. The textures, pigmentation, wear and vibrancy are insanely amazing on these shadows!
On my lower lid I have all shades from LC's Aquatenea palette. I blended Nautilus Prime and AtlanTeal on the outer corner. On the inner corner I used Pear-ple and Seahorse Discourse. On the very inner corner I highlighted with a light base of NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk Blended with LC Magic Dust in Cupcake Thief. I'm pretty proud of how this look turned out. I've not gotten this bold in a while!
My brows were filled in with Milani Eyebrow Felt Tip Pen in Deep and for my mascara I used Maybelline's The Colossal Volume Express. This look was still going STRONG the morning after lol... I know naughty, naughty... I was tired when I got home lolol!

Now for my foundation... It goes like this. I start with a base of Reviva Lab's Make-up Primer. I swear by that stuff. I had only tried one other face primer ever, by Victoria's Secret.... Never noticed much of a difference. Now with the Reviva Labs make-up primer I get a smooth airbrushed looking surface. It's amazing! And one bottle will go a LONG way!
SO, then I follow that with a light layer of Garnier BB Cream. The next step is my bareMinerals(Original) in Medium Beige. I do light contouring with my Benefit Coralista Blush (MY FAVEEEEE!), Milani's Illuminating Face Powder in Amber Nectar and NYX Bronzers, Illumunating in Narcissistic and Matte Deep. Once EVERYTHING is said and done I finish off my entire face with a very light layer of bareMinerals(original) Mineral Veil. I've been using bareMinerals products since early 2010. I just LOVE their powder foundations and the Mineral Veil is the perfect finishing touch.
Blurry and color corrected but no airbrushing. That primer is just incredible. I did my lips in one of my all time favorite lippies and that is Revlon's Balm Stain in Lovesick. It is much brighter and deeper in person. I'm keeping a light hand when I contour because I am just now starting to get a hang of it and I don't want to make my face look ...."severe". I can't sing the praises of Benefit Coralista Blush or the Reviva primer enough, btw.

And then here is a far away shot of my face of the night :D. My eyes look like Sunrises out of the ocean!
I wanna play with moar colors!!! I need to stop mentally blocking myself when it comes to make up. With this look I just went for it, very little planning and it turned out pretty neat! I just need to do this more often. I had so much fun playing with all the pretty colors and trying out loose pigments for the first time and it going so smoothly! *pats self in back* The scene on Saturday night was perfect for this make up!!

I hope you guys like! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi loves!

Today's post comes to us from the uber talented Courtney of Phyrra.net
---
Hi everyone! My name is Phyrra and I’m a friend of Cristina’s. She asked me to do a mermaid look for
her, so I did. If you like it, I have a tutorial for it. I used gold, green and teal.
To see the full Mermaid look and the full list of products used continue reading.

I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight to give the overall look a golden glow and help the
shades blend better with one another.

This is the longest, wildest wig that I own and I think it works for a wild warrior Mermaid. She might
have seaweed tangled in her hair. I see her lips as being blue, even though the cold water of the sea
doesn’t bother her.

How do you envision a mermaid?
--

I'd say this is definitely a wild mermaid. She does not play by the rules and she kicks ass with her awesome tail!!! A huge thanks to Courtney for creating this awesome fantasy look for us!

LTHP Quickies! Milani Pressed Powder Shadows for 2012

Morning loves and happy humpday!

Today I have another installment of my quickie posts. This time I will be featuring Milani's new Pressed Powder Shadows. I received 11 shades for review and I am a HUGE fan of each and every one. I've shown you guys some looks I did with the Neutral tones from these shadows. I love working with these, they have a great texture and color payoff.
To see some close up shots and quick swatches just continue reading!

Quick over-head shots. I love the neutral tones because they are a perfect range from Nude to Dark Brown. And those brights! How fun are they?!

So here are the nudes. These shadows are perfect for the "you, but better" look. I use these A LOT. I'm a big fan of doing a simple nude-ish smokey lid with pops of color on my lower lashline.

Here are the Pinks and Purple. I've not really had a chance to play with my brights yet. I am still a little intimidated by color but I plan of getting over that soon!

And the deeper peacock shades. Cannot wait to do a dramatic eye with these!

Now for some quick swatches and color descriptions.  All of these swatches were done over NYX Skin tone eyeshadow primer.
French Vanilla: Off White, Matte Finish
Pearl: Champagne Tone, Shimmer Finish
Gold Dust: Warm Gold, Soft Metallic Finish
Caramel Brown: Soft Brown with hints of Golden Shimmer
Brownstone: Deep Chocolate Brown, Matte Finish

White Lie: Clean White, Matte Finish
Tickled Pink: Soft Pink with Golden Shimmer
Shocking Pink: Almost Neon Hot Pink, Matte Finish
Purple Shock: Vivid Purple, Shimmer Finish
Olympian Blue: Bright Cerulean Blue, Matte Finish
Just Perfect: Peacock Green, Shimmer Finish

So, I seriously cannot wait to start feeling better so I can play with my make-up and start doing more #FOTD's for you guys! I highly recommend these eye-shadows. The price point is great and the quality on these is just amazing. The pigmentation and texture is just right on these suckers. There is minimal to no fall-out when applying, which is my usual problem with shadows. As far a drugstore shadows go... These might be some of my favorites!

Thoughts?

Here are some quick swatches of the Shadow Eyez pencils. I love the slightly shimmery finish of these and the pigmentation is just superb. They glide on very smoothly. These swatches are Two passes of each color. These have amazing color payoff! As someone who is not an expert at applying make-up I found these extremely easy to work with and they made it effortless to achieve edgy and fun looks (yes, pictures soon).
I love them all by my absolute faves are Green Safari, Aquatic Style and Royal Purple. Champagne Toast and Winter White are great for highlights and Brown Deluxe is great for sultry eye looks.
