Precision Oasis Collection

Hi guys! Today I'm bringing you a new brand to the blog! Not necessarily a new brand (they've been in business for 30 years) but they are new to ME, as I have never had access to this brand before.

They have sent me their Oasis Collection in order to review, so here we go. Overall it's quite subdued and hints at fall or autumn in my opinion. In general, I find their bottle design to be appealing and the brush is of standard quality making it easy to get an even application.

Sandstorm

4 thin coats pictured. A pale beige with yellow undertones. I feel like this is one that can be worn when you need a quiet palate cleanser. Fewer than 4 coats however was slightly streaky. I would recommend allowing for a minute of dry time between coats, this seems to help combat streaks.

Sahara Deserted Me

3 coats pictured. A warm nude with pink undertones. Creme finish.

Been There Dune That

3 coats pictured. Nude/ light taupe color with brown undertones. Creme finish.

Comparing these three side by side,  you can see the difference in the undertones. It seems like it could offer a perfect nude for any skin tone.

Sage

2 coats pictured. Light and muted army green. It also has silver shimmer. No problems with application here. I love this color for the fall.

   You're in De-Nile River

3 coats. It reminds me of chocolate. :)

This one immediately reminded me of OPI You Don't Know Jacques, so a comparison is below.

Scorpion King

2 coats pictured. Perfectly easy application. Charcoal/black with loads of shimmer.

Gumdrop & For Audrey Comparison

Kaitlyn wanted to see a side by side comparison of Orly's Gumdrop and China Glaze For Audrey because I mentioned they were near dupes.

I also added Wet N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint because I find it's pretty close too.

If I had to find something different... I guess For Audrey may be a minuscule darker?

Zoya - Malia

Random Zoya swatch and comparison. This is Zoya Malia, just a light/medium purple creme finish.

 Pictured is 2 perfect, easy to apply coats.

 A comparison to show it next to China Glaze Gothic Lolita & China Glaze Spontaneous.

Malia is a near dead on dupe to Spontaneous...

Teal Comparison for Cierra

Cierra commented on one of my old posts featuring Orly Ancient Jade. She asked for a better comparison picture to be able to tell the difference. I'll admit my pictures stink from then! I was using a terribly old camera and a lightbox without really knowing what I was doing. Sooooo I did not mind at all revisiting these colors for a better picture. Here I used my macro mode on my camera and shot it outside in the sunlight. So it ended up much better. :)

The polishes are on my nails in the same order as the bottles are pictured.

Left to Right

Wet N Wild -I Need A Refresh-Mint

China Glaze - For Audrey

Orly - Ancient Jade

China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint

The 2 to the left are very similar, only a slight difference.

Orly is a much more green toned teal. And Refresh Mint is much lighter.

theBalm Hot Ticket - Mellow Yellow

Here I used Mellow Yellow from the Balm's line of "Hot Ticket" nail polish.

I picked it up on Hautelook last month for $5.

I also did a gradient & stamping combo on top, I'll show you that later this afternoon.

The formula on these Hot Ticket polishes is really good. This swatch only took 2 coats. It self levels easily and doesn't go on streaky like a lot of yellow polishes do.

How does it compare to one of my favorite yellows? China Glaze Lemon Fizz?

This is an older swatch pic, so that's why the length of my nails is so different.

Side by side?

Lemon Fizz is on the left, Mellow Yellow is on the right. 

Mellow Yellow is noticeably lighter in color. Not dupes!

A Crewed Interest vs. Sunset Sail

I had been on a mission to find some pale orange polishes to add to my stash. It's a shade I'm always mixing in acrylic paint for cartoons, so I felt having it in polish form was important.

I picked up China Glaze Sunset Sail and Essie A Crewed Interest.

Sunset Sail is more yellow toned of the two and it has a shimmer. 3 thin coats here. 

I had very little trouble with it. No streaking. It comes across very subtle and nude.

A Crewed Interest is more pink toned without any shimmer. 3 thin coats. This one was more trouble. I had some streaking, pulling, and pooling. It's still a great color though.

All in all, I'm happy to have both!

What suits me best?

I've been thinking about all the different nail shapes & lengths that I've done in the past and I'd like to ask you guys what you think looks best? I can't decide.

Short and square? Long and square? Short and oval? Long and rounded?

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pink Satin + Nail Art

More than just a swatch today. I've got a look showing it's stamp-ability as well as it's comparison to another polish. I saw this in the store and thought it looked "chrome" enough to stamp well. I'd been wanting a light pink polish to stamp with, so it came home with me.

 This is 2 coats swatched. You can tell it's just a little bit "brush-strokey." Below is compared to China Glaze Emotion. Which is just a shade darker.

 

I accidentally reversed the order of my swatch-sicles....

To take care of the visible brushstrokes, I used my tried and true method for smoothing out the finish.

Then to test out it's stamp-ability I used the Bundle Monster zebra print image to do the following.

 I used OPI Skull and Glossbones as a base polish, then stamped with China Glaze Emotion on my ring fingernail. I used Pink Satin on all the other nails.

Cult Nails - Manipulative

I picked this up during the $5 sale because I'm a sucker for this shade. And it looked so fantastic with an added shimmer so I was very excited! When it came in however, I was disappointed. The shimmer doesn't show up at all to the naked eye once on the nail. And let's face it. It's pretty much an exact dupe of China Glaze For Audrey.... :(

This is 2 coats

 Can you see any shimmer?

 I didn't think so. :(

I can barely distinguish a difference.

I still wanted to wear it, so I added one coat of Pure Ice Heartbreaker for the shimmer I was looking for!

I felt Manipulated all right..... :( Duped again.
