Frankens by Polish for Thought

Happy Sunday!!

Today I have Four lovely frankens that were sent to me by Nicole of Polish for Thought. She sent me some pretty cute creations and left the task of naming them up to me, which was a lot of fun. She wanted me to be "punny" and funny with the names so I did my best to try and live up to her expectations since she gave me awesome colors to work with :D!
To see swatches of these pretty frankens just keep on reading :D!

She makes frankens for fun. I'm not really sure if she plans to open up shop and sell her pretties. In my book, she totally should because these Four pretties she sent are TOO DAMN cute!

Franken Shaken, Not Stirred
So I named this awesome layering Blue, Shaken, Not Stirred. The name comes from the slight settling with this color. The iridescent round Silvery bits like to settle at the bottom and you have to give this baby a good shake to mix it back up. There are some opalescent flakies in this polish as well as some awesome Pink shimmer. I layered Shaken, Not Stirred over China Glaze Ride the Waves. Doesn't it kind of look like a tall glass of a refreshing drink (that might make you wakeup in a strangers house with a bad reputation looool)?

Franken Teal-Schmeal
Teal- Schmeal gets its name from the hidden flashes of Violet that my pictures are not entirely showing you. While the dominant color is a dark Peacock Teal there are strong undertones of Violet shimmer. I really love this one because it reminds me of one of my first ever polish loves: Illamasqua Viridian.

Franken No Mermaids Here
Seems like every color that is slightly sparkly and Teal immediately gets named "Mermaids Something" or "Something Ocean" so... No Mermaids Here just seemed fitting lol. This one is a dense blend of Micro glitter in many different shades of Aqua and Golden as well as opalescent flakies in the mix. I layered No Mermaids Here over Cult Nails Feelin Froggy.

Franken Princess Bubblegum
So.. I pretty much LOVE Cartoon Network's show Adventure Time. One of the character is named Princess Bubblegum and this pretty creamy Pink glitter reminded me of her. There are some small Blue bits, some Silvery bits and some Silver hexes in this creamy Pink base. This color really does look quite yummy!
These are just too cute! I want to thank Nicole for sharing her pretty creations with me and for allowing me to name them. I hope she liked my naming skills lol. I really love all the opalescent flakies hiding in her blends. They add a little something extra that makes me go "ooh what's in there".

Thanks for stopping by!

Etsy Mania!! Lac Attack Jewel of the Nile

Good afternoon and happy hump day!

Today I have another of my Etsy buys. The shop being featured today is Lac Attack. When I saw this awesome polish I just knew I had to have it. This pretty also killed my lemming for I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous Pinkerbell. I don't know how close they really are but looking at swatches, they are pretty similar. I so cannot get over these matte glitter blends. I just love how they look!
No, this is not a dupe or even close to Floam. Now that- that is out of the way :D... Jewel of the Nile is a lovely mix of Blue and Green matte glitters with larger "see through" Pink bits thrown in for contrast. How adorable is this polish?! For this manicure I layered Two coats of JOTN over a franken that was sent to me by the lovely Nicole from Polish for Thought. She sent me Four of her creations and left the task of naming them up to me. I named this pretty pink Princess Bubblegum (Any Adventure Time Fans in the house?) I will be featuring her pretties soon! So I seriously love this combo and I even made a ring out of it :D!
I seriously love the little Pink bits in this. They look like they are floating on my nails. Here is a pretty macro :D!
The cuteness... I haz it! Thanks for stopping by loves!

LTHP Franken: Coal Digger

Good morning loves!

Today I have an awesome franken I made using an Etsy polish and a NYX polish. Actually a big part of the reason for my purchasing the specific Etsy polish was to be able to create this franken. I am a HUGE fan of micro shard like glitter. My love of this type of glitter became obvious after I tried NYX Gilded Glitter. Which I am sure goes by a different name now since NYX re-vamped their nail polish line. Anyhow, here is my franken that I made out of Sweetfairy Boutique Black Ice and NYX Gilded Glitter.
Any Modern Family fans in the house? The name was inspired by the episode where Gloria finds out that Claire had called her a "Coal Digger" (LOVE Luke) hahah....For this layering I started with Two perfect coats of Barielle Island Breeze. Once that was dry I added Two coats of my franken Coal Digger and topped it off with some Seche Vite. Seriously love this look!

Here is a macro just 'cause I felt like it :D.
Thoughts?

Muffin Monday!! The Nameless Franken

Hi loves and good morning!

It is Monday and that means it is time for another Muffin Monday! Today she picked for me a Franken I mixed up some time ago. I never came up with a name for it so it just became "The Nameless Franken". I usually have a pet peeve against nameless polishes but for some reason neither Mr. LTHP nor I could come up with a name for this creation. Suggestions?
To see Muffin's pick in action just keep reading after the jump.

The Nameless Franken
This creation came about when I purchased a brand new bottle of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie to replace a bottle that was 3/4 empty... I just plain did not feel like having an almost empty bottle of nail polish laying around so I decided to add some stuff to what was left in the bottle of Nail Junkie. So in here we have some Nail Junkie, some Wet 'n' Wild Blue Moon and some Delia's Marine Breeze, which is really close to O.P.I Ski Teal we Drop. I had to do Three coats for full opacity but I quite like this. It basically ended up being a nice shimmery, creamy dark Teal base with a lot of interesting glittery sparkles suspended in the base. Really pretty....
So loves... What say you... Name suggestions?

Thanks for stopping by!

Franken Time!! Close Enough- My Accidental Unicorn Puke Dupe(ish)

Hi loves!!!

Instead of Pink Wednesday today I decided to show you this awesome and total accidental franken I created.  By now we are all pretty familiar with the amazing Unicorn Puke a.k.a Clairvoyant by Cult Nails... Well like so many of us I was totally smitten by this beyond amazing creation by Maria.... I was never able to get my hands on it and I am super impatient so I just pretty much gave up hope of ever owning the beautiful Clairvoyant flakie.... I decided to name this franken "Close Enough" because... Well.. It is close enough hahaha!

Recently Jen The Polishaholic did THIS post where she layered all the Finger Paints flakies all over eachother and the effect was so amazing!! Well, my lazy ass did not feel like layering Five times so I just pured some of each of the Finger Paints Special FX colors into one bottle so I would not have to layer them and just do one or Two coats of this Flakie mix and be done. Basically I created a flakie out of other flakies.... And then I thought.. Hhhmmmm.... Maybe.. Just maybe.... I could make my own Unicorn Puke... So I went for it!
The recipe for this franken is quite random really. I never measure when I franken I just go by feel.. So in this pretty we have a mix of the following polishes: Asylum, Twisted, Motley, Flashy, Flecked by Finger Paints. I also added some O.P.I I Lilly Love you and Nfu.Oh #52 all mixed in with a small amount of Orly Fowl Play. It is quite the involved franken but OMG is it stunning!!! There are so many different colors in this and I love how the micro shimmer from Nfu.Oh 52 gives it a little something extra. It is quite sheer, just like the original Unicorn Puke and takes Four coats for some form of opacity... But layer this baby over anything and then there is some magic!!

Here is it over A England's Elaine. Yumm... !!!
I'm pretty proud of myself for creating this amazing franken! Accidental awesomeness is the best!! I really want to see this over Black soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
♥ Cristina
