China Glaze - Are You Jelly? & You Drive Me Coconuts

Some more neons I picked up from China Glaze's latest collection.

Are You Jelly?
Medium purple, jelly finish. Pictured is 3 coats.

You Drive Me Coconuts
Bright hot pink. Pictured is 3 coats. Very opaque for a jelly, in my opinion.

China Glaze - Highlight Of My Summer & Shell-O

Some more swatches:

Highlight Of My Summer
THIS ONE IS SO AWESOME IT IS MY FAVORITE AND IN FACT THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY SUMMER!
Yes, that's right I just shouted at you. And I'm not sorry for it. This polish is so freaking cool. Neon, pale, mint green! Creme finish. I didn't have any issues with the formula and got this coverage with just 2 coats.

 Shell-O
This one ended up being my least favorite.
It's not as vibrant on me as I've seen on swatches from others.
Coral jelly. Pictured is 4 coats.

O.P.I Oz the Great and Powerful Collection Swatches

(**Press Sample**)
Good morning loves!!

Today I will be sharing my swatches of O.P.I's newest Summer Soft Shades collection which was inspired by the new film, Oz the Great and Powerful. This lovely collection is made up Three nude jellies, Three layering glitters and One new Liquid Sand shade for a total of Seven new shades.
I will be SO very brutally honest. I was fully prepared to loathe this collection. I was ready to be all like "OMG it's so boring, the glitters suck etc". I found myself nomming on my words. I always think I will hate the Soft Shades, and I always end up enamored with them. I think it is because, while these are not colors I would normally pic for myself, they always end up looking so lovely and feminine. I can't help but enjoy the softer, healthy look these shades give my hands.

O.P.I I Theodora You
I Theodora You is a lovely shade of soft Ballerina slipper pink jelly-creme. This color has a perfect squishy formula and applies very easily. I used Three easy coats for my swatch above.

O.P.I Lights of Emerald City over I Theodora You
Lights of Emerald City is a blend of larger White squares and small opalescent squares suspended in a clear base. This topper is fairly easy to work with and I didn't have many issues getting the larger pieces to come out. The best thing to do is to store your bottle upside down for a little bit before application so the larger bits settle to the top of the bottle. I really love this glitter a LOT.

O.P.I Glints of Galinda
Glints of Galinda is a really neutral beige jelly-creme. I'd say it is a sandy beige and it seems to dry just a tad darker on the nail than the color in the bottle. This shade pulled Peachy on me, which I really liked. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

O.P.I When Monkeys Fly over O.P.I Glints of Galinda
When Monkeys Fly is a mix of large Golden hexes and smaller Silver prismatic hexes in a clear base. This was the "problem child" of the collection for many gals. O.P.I decided to go with intentional curling (Taco Glitter) on the larger pieces, which bothered a lot of gals. Personally, I did not find the curling to be as drastic as some people made them out to be. Yes, they were slightly curved, but I did not find it to be an issue. The trickier part was getting the pieces to stay on my nail as I was applying the polish. I used more of a dabbing method to get the pieces on my nails. In the end, I really liked this glitter and I don't mind the slightly curved pieces.

O.P.I Don't Burst my Bubble
Don't Burst my Bubble  is a very, very light shade of Pink creme- jelly. It is practically a White jelly, with the slightest hint of Pink undertones. This was the sheerest of all, I had to do Four thin coats on this shade. That said, the formula was easy to work with and very even.

O.P.I Which is Witch? over O.P.I Don't Burst my Bubble
Which is Witch?  is a really lovely and twinkly blend of micro sparkles. Micro bars and slightly larger glitter Hexes in a Silver prismatic finish all suspended in a clear base. This polish is PACKED with sparkle and has a great spread of the glitter. I just love this look. It is dreamy and fantastical.

O.P.I What Wizardry is This?
This is the liquid sand shade that was released with this collection. What Wizardry is This? is a great shade of sparkling Bronze texture. I did not think I would enjoy this, but I do love it quite a lot. It is such a rich shade. It reminds me of coffee for some reason... Random I know haha. I used Two coats for my swatch, but I should have used a Third thin one.

And there you have O.P.I's Oz Collection. What are your thoughts on this collection? I find these to be adorable, clean and feminine. I really ended up liking the glitters as well. I suppose it is a good thing I do not naturally gravitate to shades like these. They usually end up being unique in my stash, and that is always a good thing. If I were to only get ONE shade from this collection, it would definitely be I Theodora You.

 Which are your picks?

Spring Rolls Jelly Sammiches!

Hello my beauties and happy Friday!!

Today I have a quick post for you guys featuring some yummy glitter-jelly sammiches. While I was swatching my China Glaze Bitz 'n' Pieces Collection I figured it would be fun to see them sandwiched as well.
I won't be going into huge detail about each look since these are simple jelly sammiches. This is still one of my favorite methods to spice up a plain manicure. I will break down the polishes used from base color to top color to keep things easy haha!

China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, Bling it On- Sammiched with O.P.I Care to Danse?

China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around, Mosaic Madness- Sammiched with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu

Picture Polish Kryptonite and Monroe

Hello and happy Tuesday!!

Today I have Two stunning polishes by Aussie brand Picture Polish. I will be keeping this post a little short as it is an AWESOME day out today and I really want to take advantage of this Sunlight!!

Picture Polish Kryptonite by Cathy of More Nail Polish.
Every so often Picture Polish teams up with bloggers and some of their e-tailers to create custom colors. This particular beauty was created by Cathy of Aussie nail polish blog More Nail Polish. There is a cute story as to how I came to have this pretty. If you watched my "Origins Video", you may know that Cathy's was the first nail blogs I ever read. Well, turns out Cathy had seen my video and she contacted me to let me know how flattered and touched she was to find out that she was one of my muses (I was just plain amazed that she even knew about my blog, or who I was). Once we were done fangirling over each other Cathy said that she wanted to send me a bottle of Kryptonite and of course I said YES! She surprised me with an AWESOME Aussie care package and I will be showing you the rest of the beauties later on (Hello, Lynn CtD, Layla Flash Back, Ulta3!!).
So, back to Kryptonite. It is the most beautiful shade of deep Emerald Jelly packed full of Holographic glassflecks. The formula on this pretty is amazing and does well in Three thin coats.

Picture Polish Monroe
Monroe is a delicious shade of Raspberry jelly packed full of Holographic glassflecks and "dust". This is a similar finish to Kryptonite. However, the sparkle in Monroe is much finer. I love this sparkly twist on a classic shade. The formula on this pretty is really easy to work with, and does well in Three thin coats.

That is all for me today. I'm tempted to put on my bikini and lay out in my back yard!! It is seriously stunning outside today! AND I need to work on building a base tan as I am haunting this house with my paleness....  But! Back to polish!! Aren't these so pretty!! I can't ever get tired of jelly based holos. They are just plain yummy!!

Do you have any Pictures Polishes? Which are your faves?

Indie Mania! KBShimmer Swatches

Monday Monday...

So when this indie brand contacted me I pretty much did a little dance, squeed and promptly replied with a big YES, I will feature you. The brand I am talking about is KBShimmer. Christy has been in the bath and beauty game for some time but just recently got into the polish- making game. KBShimmer nail polish first caught my eye when the brand was featured in this Beautylish article. I loved the uniqueness of her polishes, and the fact that they did not need undies (A base color).
There was no way I could narrow down which polishes to review so I asked Christy to send me some of her personal favorite polishes. I could not be more thrilled with the pretties if I had picked them myself. These are some of the most unique and beautiful polishes I've ever seen/ am happy to own!
To see swatches of these amazing indie beauties continue reading!

I don't want to repeat myself over and over so let me just say that the formula on every single one of these polishes is just incredible. First, the colored bases on these are the perfect balance between opaque and translucent. None of these polishes required a base color. All of these swatches of just Two coats of polish, except for Witch Way? for which I used Three coats. I don't know what kind of sorcery is in these polishes but the glitters have a perfect spread, there is absolutely no fishing and the larger chunks don't seem to do that think where they all want to clump at the free edge of the nail. They.Are.Perfect. Like jelly sammiches in a bottle.... These practically apply themselves, I didn't even have to do any clean-up! All swatches shown with a top coat to smooth out and bring out shine.

KBSHimmer Watercolor
Watercolor is a beautiful crelly Sky Blue base accented with small Lavender glitter and  varying Hex glitter sizes in Holo Silver, Magenta, Purple, Fuchsia and Blue. This is delicate yet eye catching at the same time. I did Two coats of Watercolor. Cannot rave enough about the formula.

KBShimmer All Decked Out
All Decked Out is part of the upcoming Holiday collection. This is an interesting Hunter Green crelly base accented by small Golden glitter and varying hex glitter sizes in Gold, Orange, Red, Green, Purple, Blue and sneaky Gold stars. This is probably my new favorite Holiday polish and the most interesting. I love the daring base color in this polish and how interesting the glitter looks suspended in it.

KBShimmer in No Whine Left
No Whine Left is a beautiful light Red toned Plum Purple crelly base with smalle Purple and Blue glitter as well as larger varying size hex glitters in Purple and Blue. The Blue glitter in this is a really nice touch. There is something grown up about this glitter polish.

KBShimmer Hex Appeal
Hex Appeal is mind blowing! This pretty is an Indigo jelly base packed with varying size hexes in Silver, Blue, Lavender, Magenta, Blue and then there are these teeny-tiny holo bars and twinkly glitters in the base. This is really just an outstanding nail polish. I love how perfectly the glitter spread, and the great balance of different sizes of glitter on the nail.

KBShimmer Cocoa Nut
This is so delicious! Cocoa Nut is a yummy Chocolate Brown crelly base packed with micro- twinkly Golden glitter and smaller hexes in Raspberry and Red glitter. I was immediately craving chocolate-covered strawberries the second I saw this polish. This an insanely flattering color. This is a more subtle blend of glitter and creamy base. I'm a big fan of the little berry-toned twinkles my eye would catch with this one.

KBShimmer Witch Way?
Witch Way? is a deep Inky Purple jelly base packed full of smaller hexes and twinkly glitter all in Silver Holo. The glitter in this one is all the same color. I really liked the effect that building up the layers in this color created, a true jelly sammich in a bottle. For this one I used Three coats of the polish.

I really cannot rave enough about these amazing and unique polishes. She has a great range of shades and blends in her shop. There is something for everyone. KBShimmer polishes definitely have a big spot in my top 2012 releases as of right MEOW! Check out the KBShimmer Site to see the full range of polishes, soaps, balms, scrubs, etc! With the holidays coming up, Christy's shop is a great one-stop-site!

I WILL be back later with a Muffin Monday! She refused to cooperate yesterday so I am trying again later! I LOVE all of these. Do you have a fave?

Muffin Monday!! Aphrodite Lacquers Rumrunner gets "Giltified"

Happy Muffin Monday!!

It has been SO long since the last time I did a Muffin Monday. I miss having my kittehs halp on the blog. Have you guys missed Miss Muffin? She sure has had a nice little break, but it was time to have her come back and help me with my Monday picks :D. I literally could not decide which of my Aphrodite Lacquers I wanted to go with, so I had Muffin pick for me. As usual she picked a total win! Well, all of the options are total wins... Onto the kitteh!

Aphrodite Lacquers Rumrunner
This is such an amazing color I don't even know where to begin. Rumrunner is an amazing Berry toned jelly base packed full of different tones of small Red, Pink and Berry hexes and smaller Silver twinkle glitter. Uh-MAZING! I absolutely LOVE the fact that it is an opaque polish and it does not need to be layered. This color really does remind me of a tall, delicious drink! I used Three thin coats for full opacity. I love this jelly sammich in a bottle.

Since I actually got to rock this over the weekend I layered my Zoya Gilty Gold flake top coat. I could not stop staring at my nails. I could have worn this for ever! I topped it all off with Cult Nails Wicked Fast  top coat.
Muffin is happy to be back and I am so happy to have her help me decide which amazing polishes to wear again. I can't believe how long it had been since I last had Miss Muffin on the blog. That makes me feel bad mm'kaay... Muffin Mondays are an LTHP tradition, I shall try to keep up with it like I used to!

Thanks for stopping by!

Twee & Honey All Hallows Collection- Halloween 2012

Good afternoon!!

I seriously cannot believe it is Monday already.... I also cannot believe October is almost over. Where has this year gone?! Today I have one last Halloween Collection to show ou guys. This set comes from indie brand Twee & Honey. There are a lot of pretties in this set so I'm gonne get straight to it!

Twee & Honey Hallow
Hallow is a dreamy, shimmering White. This is one of those "squishy" Whites a lot of us love so much. The shimmer in the polish is so dreamy and just pretty. When I think of what "pretty" should look like, this polish comes to mind. This shade does well in Three easy coats. The formula is nice and easy to work with. This does dry a bit dull so a top coat is a must.

Twee & Honey Viscera over Zoya Ziv
Viscera is a blend of small orange Squares, medium Orange Hexes, some White hexes and some sneaky hearts all suspended in a light Orange jelly base. For this look I layered Three thin coats of Viscera over Zoya Ziv for an interesting glowing finish.

Twee & Honey Holey Sheet over Hipster Zombie
Holey Sheet was an immediate stand-out for me.  This polish is made up of varying sizes of satiny White hexes suspended in a light, shimmery Seafoam base, there are also some opalescent flakies thrown in for good measure. This polish is ethereal and absolutely drool-worthy. I layered Two coats of Holey Sheet over Hipster Zombie.

Twee & Honey Tutu over O.P.I Mourning Glory
Tutu is a glitterbomb of epic proportions. This pretty is made up a small Magenta, light Pink and opalescent glitter base with accents of larger hexes in Magenta and light Pink. I layered Two coats of Tutu over my Black base.

Twee & Honey Ring Around the Rosey over Polished Components Thong
Ring Around the Rosey is a blend of Red, Black and larger Black hexes and opalescent bits suspended in a rosey, shimmery base. There is a lot of texture in this polish. I layered Two coats over my base color.

Twee & Honey Anathema
Anathema is a deep, deep Teal-ish green jelly. In most light it almost looks Black, but it is definitelly a deep Green. The formula on this one is a little tricky so a patient hand is needed and wait between coats. I used Three thin coats.

Twee & Honey Miasmasb over Anathema
Miasmas is a holographic top coat with a sprinkling of Multichromatic glitter. Miasmas dries a little matte so a top coat is a must.

And there you have Twee & Honey's Halloween collection. My faves would have to be Hallow, Holey Sheet and Tutu. I love T&H polishes. Her naming skills are freaking great and the lady behind the brand is a total sweetheart who knows how to bring the lols.

Which are your faves? Also, what will you be dressing as this Halloween?
