LTHP Quickies! Milani Color Statement Lipsticks in Plums & Berries- Swatches

(*The products in this post were provided for review consideration.*)
Happy Friday!!

I have (literally) an UBER stiff neck today. Holy shiz guys. I'm like Robocop up in this bish.. Cannot turn my head in any direction or tilt it up or down.... I really think we need a new bed haha... So now that you guys are all caught up on that.... How 'bout some beautiful lipsticks?!!! I give you, Milani's Color Statement Lipsticks in the Plums and Berries Family.
MMMM!!!! Purple!! Much like the Pink family, I love every single one of these shades! There is a wonderful range of shades and finishes in this family.

And for some quick arm swatchies:
Raspberry RUSH: (whoopsss!!) This shade is a vibrant shade of Metallic Fuchsia.
Plumrose: A classic shade of "rosey plum" creme. This is a great every-day shade.
Uptown Mauve: A beautiful shade of vivid Mauve creme. This shade leans more on the Berry side of Mauve. Super flattering color.
Violet Volt: GAHHHH!! An awesome shade of Blue toned, light metallic Purple.
Chilled Brandy: A shimmering shade of light Plum with slight brown undertones.
Sangria: A delicious matte, light burgundy shade.
Black Cherry: A, very shiny, shade of deep Burgundy. This one is listed as a creme finish, but I would say it's more like vinyl.

With this color family they also released Two more lip liners. Once again, these have amazing pigmentation and a perfect creamy formula.

And now for some lip swatches of the Plum and Berry shades I've worn so far. I love these lipsticks so much. They have a great feel on the lips and the scent is light and does not linger. The wear on these colors is extremely impressive. I am wearing a liner on all of these. For the most part I used the Fuchsia lip liner.
Raspberry Rush

Uptown Mauve

Violet Volt

Sangria

And these two are actually from the Red and Oranges family. I realized I never showed you guys lip swatches of these. My camera has a hard time with Red tones and capturing the subtle difference in colors.
Ruby Valentine (Sultry, blue based, deep Red)

High Voltage (vivid tomato Red)
So far, I can't really pick a favorite from this color family. I love them all for different reasons/ occasions. I am still in utter awe of the quality of these lipsticks and the amazing job Milani did with the color and finish Range.

Are any shades from this group jumping out at you?

OCC Lip Tar and Nail Color in Power Plant

(**OCC products provided for review consideration**)
Yay Friday!!

Today I have my very first OCC nail color evar! OCC is a brand that I've had a major crush on for a while now. I am a HUGE fan of Lip Tars and I've read nothing but fantastic things about their pigments and nail color. Well, recently OCC released an awesome new collection (Sci-Fi Lullabies) and I got a chance to try out Power Plant. This is their new shimmery-metallic Sage Green nail and lip color. All I can say is OMGWOW!
I kinda love the picture above. I would have never thought I would have liked Green lips on me! I need to practice applying lip tars, especially this shimmery ones. I should have done a light coat of concealer on my lips to bring out more of the Green in the lippy... Anywho, Power Plant lip tar is a beautiful, minty shade of soft Green with strong metallic shimmer. It's a bit sheer (when compared to my creme lip tars) but it can built up easily. I do like that it  is slightly sheer as it makes it versatile in terms of layering, gradients and such.

And here is OCC Power Plant nail color. The nail version of Power Plant is a more vivid shade of Green. I would call this a Spearmint Green. The shimmer in this shade is just amazing! I love that Silvery-Green-Blue micro shimmer that seems to float over the green base color. When you read about "glowy" colors... THIS is what we are talking about ♥. The formula on this shade is incredibly smooth and even. I only needed Two effortless coats for full opacity. I.LOVE.This.Color! This is everything I wanted Barielle Snap Dragon to be and MORE.

And here is a swatch of Power Plant lip tar. I will have better pictures soon. But I do really like this color and the soft, pastel-ness of it all. Right on trend for Spring!! I hope I master this lip tar soon because I really want to wear it out and scare all the old peeps in my town lol!!!

What is a brand that you have always loved, even before getting to try it out? Mine were Sugarpill (OMG how I lemmed Sugarpill!!), OCC and BFTE Cosmetics. And now that I am familiar with all Three brands, I have nothing but praise for their biz ethics and fantastic products!

And how about "unusual" lip colors? Would you rock a Green lip?

Pink Wednesday! Milani Color Statement Lipsticks- Pink & Coral Lip Swatches

Hello lovelies and happy Pink Wednesday!!

For this edition of Pink Wednesday I have lip swatches of the beautiful, new Color Statement Lipsticks by Milani. These lippy swatches are of the Pink and Coral family, which I covered in a quickie post a few weeks back. I knew I really wanted to show you guys lip swatches of this color family because they were/are just SO beautiful and perfect for Spring.
There is a funny "story" behind these swatches. It took me a while to get them up because I was actually going through and wearing these. Every time I tried a new color in this family I was like "ooh ooh THIS one is my favorite"... Long story short, they are all my favorites hahaha!
I won't be going into huge detail about these since I covered the bulk of the review in [THIS POST].

I used Haute Pink lip liner for all of these swatches. Well, all but Flamingo Pose for which I used All Natural. The liners are fabulous, I had no feathering at all!

Milani Flamingo Pose
This beautiful shade of creamy Pinky- Coral applies like butter and wore beautifully!

Milani Flirty Fuchsia
This shade was a definite WIN for me. This is a very vivid shade of Fuchsia, with just the slightest shimmer. This color has a very intense shine as it is a vinyl finish.

Milani Rose Hip
This is a wonderful shade of light Blue-toned creamy Bubblegum Pink. Out of the "lighter Pinks" this one is the more vivid shade.

Milani Rose Amour
This shade is a nice, classic shade of Rose Pink. It is light, but it has just the right amount of pigmentation.

Milani Hot Pink Rage
This one is a fantastic shade of HOT Magenta Pink and it has a sultry matte finish. BIG fan of this shade as well.

Milani Fruit Punch
This is a light shade of Pink, slight Coral undertones. I fell in love with this color from the second I did my arm swatch. This is a perfect, every-day shade and SO flattering.
The only one I could not bring myself to try was Pink Frost. I really don't see how I can make that shade work for me, maybe if I use it as a highlight shade? Anywho, these colors are all made of EPIC win. I ran into absolutely ZERO issues with application on these shades. They all had amazing coverage and felt so nice on the lips. Hot Pink Rage is a little drying, I'm guessing due to the matte finish. All the other shades were fabulous in terms of moisture.

Coming very soon are swatches of the Plums and Berries as well as Browns and Neutrals. So far though, this is my very favorite color family (but I love Pink so I'm biased). I just love how Pink looks with my hair colors ;). I can't say enough good things about Milani and all the amazing new products they have been putting out this year!

I think my very faves here are Flamingo Pose, Flirty Fuchsia, Fruit Punch and Hot Pink Rage. Do you have any picks from this color family?

Pink Wednesday! Milani Color Statement Lipsticks Pinks & Corals

Hello darlings!!!

I am in PINK today!! Well, Pink lips anyway. This edition of Pink Wednesday is brought to you by the EPIC WIN that are the new Pink and Coral shades from Milani's new Color Statement Lipstick collection. Last week I showed you guys some quick swatches of the Red and Orange family. Those were some beautiful and classic shades. I really loved the Reds and Oranges... But these Pinks and Corals have my whole heart, body and soul. Not to mention, they are PERFECT for the coming Spring months.
There is only ONE shade here that I do not care for. And that is Pink Frost. The rest are made of total and pure WIN. These lippies have the same soft, watermelon scent as the Reds and Oranges. I really don't mind the scent at all as it does not linger.

Now for some quick arm swatches. And of course I will be posting lip pictures as well! All of these swatches are just ONE firm swipe of the lipstick. Color me impressed (no pun intended). The pigmentation on all of these is seriously impressive.
Pink Frost: A soft, blushing Pink with a STRONG metallic-frost finish. This is the only shade I'm not loving. Mainly because I'm pretty sure I cannot pull it off. This is a hard color and finish to pull off for me.
Fruit Punch: A creme finish, bubblegummy Pink with some slight Coral undertones. I LOVE this one. I've already worn it twice! It has a fantastic creamy finish and applies like BUTTAH. This shade was very moisturizing. Fruit Punch is SO flattering!
Rose Amour: This shade is a light, Blue toned Pink with a great creamy finish. This shade is vivid and lovely. I cannot wait to wear it!
Rose Hip: Is more on the Magenta side, and once again slightly Blue toned. This shade is also in a cream finish.
Hot Pink Rage: OMG LOVE THIS! Ok, so this shade is a HOT, bright Barbie Pink in a beautiful Matte finish. I LOVE the finish on this shade. Even though it is matte, it has a lot of dimension and feels great on the lips. The staying power on this baby is incredible.
Flamingo Pose: This shade is an amazing shade of vivid Coral. This shade is in a creamy finish. I cannot wait to try this color out as I am a sucker for anything Coral!! I bet this will look good on so many skintones!
Flirty Fuchsia: This one is a deeper, vivid shade of Fuchsia with the slightest Purple shimmer. This shade is described by Milani as a vinyl finish. I am SO excited for this shade, it is so vivid and the shine is beautiful!

Along with the lipsticks Milani also released Two lip liner shades for the Pink and Coral shades.
These are amazing! I have only had a chance to use Haute Pink. I used it the day I wore Hot Pink Rage and it was perfection!
And just for fun I wanted to show you guys a comparison between last year's Red Label and this year's Red Label. They are both fantastic. What is even more incredible is how Milani managed to improve on their, already amazing, formula. I was blown away by last years shades. I didn't think they could get any better. Guess what? They SO do!! Brava Milani!! The new Red Label is much more pigmented, shiny and multi dimensional. The old Red Label is slightly lighter and it does not have that "juicy" quality that the new Red Label has.
I cannot wait to show you guys lip swatches of these pretties, along with the Reds and Oranges. I also have som new Milani Ultra Fine Liquid eye liners coming your way soon!!

What do you think? Any colors jump out at you? I seriously cannot pick a favorite just yet. I love them ALLL (except Pink Frost lol). If you are a Pink lover, you will love these!!! I also can't wait to play around with mixing colors and creating cool looks with these beauties!

LTHP Quickies! Milani Color Statement Lipsticks 2013: Reds and Oranges

Good evening and happy Sunday!!

Today I have another instalment of my quickies series. Today I want to show you guys some quick swatches of Milani's New Red and Oranges lippies of the new Color Statement line. Last year I fell in love with Milani lip products after trying the shades in the Color Perfect Line. I was pretty much floored when I found out that Milani was releasing 30 new lipsticks in revamped packaging. For this quickie post I am sharing the new Red and Oranges family.
The new packaging is a sleek, shiny Gold tube. At the very bottom it has a clear cap filled with the actual color of lipstick in the tube. The lipsticks are a standard round shape, and have a great angled tip for perfect and easy application. The shot above is with flash and the one below is without. My camera has a hard time with Red and Orange shades.
These lipsticks have a really nice  (to me) scent. I am one of those girls who is very sensitive to smells and these did not bother me. They smell like Watermelon candies. The scent does not linger.

Now for some quick arm swatches. And yes, I do plan to have lip swatches of these soon :D! I have finally overcome my fear of Lip color!
Sweet Nectar: A beautifully bright, tangerine Orange Creme lipstick. This shade is very bright, pigmented and smooth.
Orange-Gina: A warm metallic Orange shade. The base is a wearble, light Orange laced with Golden metallic shimmer.
Cherry Crave: A warm, light metallic Red laced with metallic Gold shimmer. This shade is really flattering.
High Voltage: A "vinyl" finish Orange-toned Red. This shade is very bright and daring. I really enjoyed the shine on this.
Red Label: This shade is making a return from last years lip color line. This shade is a nice balanced Red creme.
Best Red: This is a classic shade of Matte Red. Just a pinch darker than Red Label and not as shiny.
Ruby Valentine: This is another "'vinyl" finish. This shade is a nice, dark, Blue-based Red with very intense Shine.

Milani has my heart when it comes to drugstore brands, and makeup in general. I cannot get enough of their fantastic lipstick formulas. I've never used a "high- end" lipstick, but I really don't see a need to do so... Why? When brands like Milani consistently put out amazing products at great prices. Milani's lip colors always have fantastic application and wear. I have to say this group has to be a Red lip lovers dream! And that I have become :D. These should already be popping up at CVS, Walgreens and Wal-Mart. Along with the rest of the color families.

Along with new lip colors Milani also released new lip liners! I've yet to master using lip liners, these have made learning a breeze though!
These liners have a really creamy, smooth and pigmented formula. There was absolutely no dragging and there is no effort required to create perfect, clean lines.

Quickie swatches, these are both creme in finish.
I am so excited to see the rest of the color families! ANDDD did you  see the new eye liners Milani is coming out with?! They look SO amazing!! Are you a red-lip-lover? Do any of these shades jump out at you?

Are you Givin' Me the Lip?

Why, yes, yes I am!

LOL.. Ok So I am pretty petrified about this post. I have no idea why.... It's mah mouf! Remember a while back when I did [THIS] Milani lippy post? I showed arm swatches because at the time I was just NOT into lipstick, or just plain intimidated by it I suppose. That very day I resolved to get over that silliness. I started experimenting with lippies and practicing my application, taking photos, etc.
I realized that a nicely done lip really does complete "the look". I've also found confidence in bold lips. All of a sudden I don't feel right unless my pout is coated in bright color. I find that I feel most comfortable in BRIGHT shades in the Pink family, but I have been expanding to Red's and even Plums. SO! I wanted to share with you guys some random lippy swatches to start getting comfortable with doing these types of posts.

To see some lippy closeups just continue reading  ♥.
Please be gentle lolol!!! Oh and, ok, So I used to have lip piercings (which I miss terribly). That is why I have little dents under my lower lip lo!

Orange and Pink
I this photo I am wearing Two of Revlon's Kissable Balm Stains. I LOVE THOSE!! If you have not tried the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains yet, you totally need to change that. [HERE] is a great post about these suckers! This look features Rendezvous on my Cupid's bow and center of bottom lip and Lovesick on the corners of my lips. I loved how this looked, very tropical and juicy. The bonus with the stains is that the look lasted, pretty much, all day. I had to do minimal re-touching of the colors.

Matte Pinkness
I am a little frustrated at this photo because IRL this lip was quite a bit brighter. For this look I started with a "base" of Revlon Balm Stain in Sweetheart. I followed the stain with my NYX Soft Matte Creme lip color in Addis Abbaba. Doing this layering gave me a pretty, bright Pink satiny lip. I am a huge fan of NYX products, especially their matte lip colors. Both the matte lipsticks and the matte cremes are fab!

butter LONDON Primrose Hill Picnic
I reviewed this lip color [HERE]. I feel like this is worth mentioning again though.. BL Lippies have waaaay too strong of a scent for me. Sometimes it can even make me nauseous. I don't wear them very often for this reason and this reason alone. It is a shame because I LOVE the shades I own (Snog, Trout Pout and this pretty). I also really love the wear, texture and pigmentation on their lip products. I just wish they would tone down the smell.

AJ Crimson Kissable Couture in Mysterious
I freaking love my AJ Crimson Lip colors! One of my favorite things in life is an opaque lip color that applies and feels like a gloss. Enter Kissable Couture. I was introduced to the line at The Makeup Show Orlando. While there a group of us were visiting at the AJ Crimson booth and one of the MUA's (George McKenney) started putting lip colors on some of the girls. He picked Mysterious for me and the second I saw it on me I had to have it! The texture on this lip color is some kind of dream, it applies SO smoothly and evenly. These have a scent but it is very light and it does not linger.

AJ Crimson Kissable Couture in Fantasies
For this look I put down a light base of Revlon Balm Stain in Romantic. I followed my base with Kissable Couture in Fantasies. This is my favorite shade of Red at the moment. I love it because it is a true Candy Apple Red. There are no Orange undertones, no Pink undertones. Just classic RED! I had to get this one after seeing it on my lovely friend Judi!

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick in Centrifuchsia
This is another shade that was quite brighter in person (I need to find better lighting for my lip photos). I LOVE this shade! I really wish I had a more accurate photo because this shade is beautiful! I had no issues with application. I actually found it quite smooth and even. The scent is a soft Vanilla but it does not linger. The wear on this lip color is absolutely ridic!!!! My lips were still stained Pink the morning after lol!

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick in Poisonberry
Behold! My first ever lip color lemming! Poisonberry is my perfect shade of Plum! I love it because it is clearly Purple. I don't like Blackened or Maroon plums as I am not into the Goth look, and it does not suit me. Poisonberry has the perfect Pink undertones that allow it to remain distinctly Purple no matter how much you keep layering it. I had no issues with application and once again the wear was absolutely amazing! I got so many complements on this shade and I cannot wait to wear it again! I felt sultry and just plain hot lol!
And just for fun here is a shot of the #FOTD that accompanied this lip color. This look is the result of my listening to Lana Del Rey while doing my makeup haha. Do you listen to music while doing your makeup? Do you find it influences your end look? It always seems to do so for me haha.
So, if you made it this far, thank you for reading my first lippy post!! This was really fun to work on and it's always an experience posting about something new (to me anyways:).

So, do any of these shades stand out to you?
